Speed controller for corded drill, used for milling grain?

I have a harbor freight 1/2" variable speed drill... does anyone know if this will allow the drill to spin at a relatively slow RPM? Slower than I can get it when I pull the trigger in the smallest amount? Right now it seems like the slowest speed it will go is still too fast... maybe 600 RPM or...

    Wisconsin 20 G EHERM system-BCS automation

Is this still for sale? I'm interested in the brew kettle, mash tun, and HLT... and plumbing w/ the ball valves.

Amana 9.0 cf for their keezer? Not on the registry, how many kegs?

Hi, I'm looking at this chest freezer now... did you end up buying the 9cu ft Amana? and if so, how many kegs does it fit?

    Kenmore Keezer problem

Hi mcubed45, I'm just wondering what the end result was for you and your Kenmore chest freezer. I have a very similar issue with my 2 yr old Kenmore chest freezer and I'm wondering if you might be able to help with any insight.

Keezer running non-stop; some ice; not keeping up

I did not screw anything into the chest freezer to build the keezer. I glued the collar onto it. The ice is not localized to a corner, but it was along the top of the front and back walls about half the length of the freezer. I can't believe that this thing could be dead already and I dread...

Keezer running non-stop; some ice; not keeping up

I have a 2 year old Kenmore 7.2cu ft keezer with 4 kegs in it. I have a PC fan to circulate air and it's worked well for a year. However, I recently noticed that it's running non-stop, although very quietly (not sure if that's normal) and it's barely keeping at my temp set point of 38 degrees. I...

    Dehumidifier glycol chiller

I don't know of a way to rust off the metal, but my coils also have a metal part attached to it, so let us know if you end up finding a way to get it off. For the time being mine is in the cooler w/ the glycol. By the way, I originally tried using a dehumidifier, but ended up accidentally...

    Glycol Chiller Build

I ended up with a separate temp controller for the glycol for an additional reason: in case a pump fails or the conical isn't cooling beyond a certain point, I don't want the a/c unit running non-stop, forever. I then use 2 more temp probes; one in each of the conicals with a separate pump going...

    Dehumidifier glycol chiller

Well, so much for my attempt to build this... I had everything apart and I put the cooler in place... it was looking great and I was so excited. Then just as I was making some final adjustments to the position of the coils I heard a hissing sound. Apparently the copper pipe cracked right where...

    Glycol Chiller Build

I'm interested in this approach... I like the idea because it requires just 1 temperature probe and would seem to save some energy. However, my concern is that the glycol chiller could end up running for a long time if the fermenter temp doesn't follow closely behind... and that would end up...

    Dehumidifier glycol chiller

Thanks for your response. I tried removing my humistat but then the compressor would never turn on. Instead I was thinking of putting the humistat in the cooler assuming the humidity would always be really high in there. I was able to disconnect the fan and the compressor still works fine. By...

    Dehumidifier glycol chiller

I'm building something similar right now. One thing I'm unsure of, however, is that there seems to be a temperature probe and 2 ground wires attached to the coils. Did your dehumidifier have this? And does anyone have any ideas on what to do about it?

    Help BCS 462 wiring Schematic/Advice

Hey beluedog, this build is going to be awesome! I see that you're planning on allowing only 1 heating elements to fire at a time. I know it's a controversial issue, but a lot of guys are running 2 elements at once and still using only 50a. Did you ever consider keeping that option open? I'm...

Looking at Jaybird False Bottom for Keggle Mash Tun: should I get the stand with it?

Thanks guys. I will probably be ordering 2 soon... and I will probably get the stand for them just in case... since I will be using HERMS with a continuously recirculating mash.

Looking at Jaybird False Bottom for Keggle Mash Tun: should I get the stand with it?

By the way, do you have to unscrew the fitting and remove the dip tube in order to get the FB out for cleaning? How easy/hard is that? Is there an easier way?

Looking at Jaybird False Bottom for Keggle Mash Tun: should I get the stand with it?

I'm in the process of building a mash tun from a 15.5 gallon Sanke keg and it sounds like the 15" Jaybird false bottoms are a good addition. My question is, should I also buy the $25 stand for the false bottom, or does it work fine without the stand? In case it matters, I will be continuously...

Do I need the cover on both sides of the gang box?

You're right... there won't be enough thread to go through the keg. Thanks.

Do I need the cover on both sides of the gang box?

I'm starting to plan my electric brew system and specifically, adding an element to my HLT (sanke keg). I'm thinking of using a single gang box and I'm wondering if it's absolutely necessary to put the additional gang box cover (like kal does) on the back of the gang box, instead of just...

Can I use the yeast I harvested and washed 3 months ago?

Wow... Well if 8 months works then I probably shouldn't worry about 3! Thanks.

Can I use the yeast I harvested and washed 3 months ago?

I am going to brew another belgian grand cru and I still have yeast in the fridge that I harvested and cleaned 3 months ago. Do you think I should attempt to make a starter with it and use it? I don't have a homebrew store close to me or else I wouldn't bother.
