Using 1/6 Kegs in a Kegerator

I have noticed that lots are more expensive. Luckily most of my beer will be home brew once I get more Cornys. Also, that 5 gallon keg of Icky (Reno local brewing company called Great Basin, its an IPA with 6.4% aBv) cost me about $55 after tax which puts it close to $1 per 12oz of beer. That...

Using 1/6 Kegs in a Kegerator

Well, to get the ball rolling yesterday I ordered a 5 gallon keg of Icky from Great Basin Brewery (a Reno/Sparks local brewery that is starting to get bigger and bigger, they just won some Nevada brewery of the year award). Plus they charge no deposit up front and if you are using a kegerator...

Using 1/6 Kegs in a Kegerator

A couple hours ago I bought a Sanke coupler from Amazon (I have 2 day free shipping with Prime and paid the extra $3 to get it in 1 day). Looked up some diagrams and it looks like I should be able to fit the full sized one and I may need the elbow. 29" clearance from top to bottom. I will...

Using 1/6 Kegs in a Kegerator

I cleaned all of the lines with line cleaner right before I kegged and it was running clear water through after. If I notice any off flavors I will replace them. I'll try to find some of those adapters. I really like that idea. Does this look like the right kit? Sanke Tap to Homebrew Conversion...

Using 1/6 Kegs in a Kegerator

Hey guys. So after going through cleaning, bottling, etc to my home brew for the last couple years I finally got a sweet deal on a 4 tap kegerator. I picked it and a 3 gal keg up to pus some of my home brew in. I am typically brewing anywhere from 5-15 gallons of home brew at a time and would...

Very Active Double IPA Help Needed

Thanks for the replies everybody. Looks like it has been working and hasn't clogged yet. Ill keep watching it periodically. Just for my future reference though did this happen because of my super active yeast or because of the higher gravity?

Very Active Double IPA Help Needed

How does this look? Kinda ghetto but should it work? It's only filled with water and a tiny bit of bleach.

Very Active Double IPA Help Needed

Also worth mentioning. I filled the fermenter up with about 4.75 gallons of wert. So it's not like I put 6 gallons in either.

Very Active Double IPA Help Needed

Right now I'm brewing a Double IPA. I brewed it yesterday and pitched the yeast last night. I got an OG of 1.090 at 84 degrees. When I pitched the yeast (white labs California ale) i had a super active yeast, it nearly exploded out of the vial. Tonight after work I came home to find beer all...

    Hello From Reno

Ok, I know a few people out there. There is a guy that drives up my street all the time with a Reno eNVy trailer.

    Hello From Reno

I've been lurking advice off here for some time now. Figured it was time to join. So far I just finished my 5th batch of beer and my 1st batch of cider. I've had some good batches and some not so good batches as well. Seems like the last few batches I had some issues but now that I've learned...
