    Low OG

I agree with jetmac. When I first started my cavities were always low, until it dawned on me that I wasn't stirring enough. Most of the extract is sitting in the lower half of your carboy. it's not a huge deal though when you are first starting, when the yeast start to work their magic they...

    Hello from Brantford Ontario

Hey! Thanks for the reply! ... I only just noticed it! How many brewers do you get at those get togethers? I actually work in Cambridge. Also, out of curiosity, where do you get your supplies? I currently hit up BYO Breweries in Brantford and Bedtime in Hamilton.

    Gimp Help

The brute force method that I would try is to create a new blank image (File/New) and set the image size to 8.5" x 11". Then copy/paste your image 4 times. The scaling is to fairly straight forward by going to (Image/Scale). Nice label by the way!

Looking for help in designing a low profile 12v power supply

With you're worst case measurement, it should be fine for you to drop the size. You would be limited though if you ever wanted to add pilot lights or some other addon. I think you've done well to oversize it. Good luck!

Looking for help in designing a low profile 12v power supply

Second option is a simple linear rectifier constructed of a low VA transformer, some diodes, capacitor, and an lm7912 ic. Final option...

Are there any big name stores that carry SSR's?

I've found industrial supply stores are closed over the weekend. If you're still having trouble sourcing one by Monday, I highly recommend ordering from www.digikey.com or www.digikey.ca. They've got next day delivery, and sell quality items. Good luck!

    pilot light bulb source?

Hi aludwig, I haven't done a search for the bulb yet but my default goto place for all things electrical is digikey. They have a great search tool and they also offer next day delivery. www.digikey.com for those in the states www.digikey.ca for us Canadians.

    Am I crazy?

It is hard however to beat the simplicity and efficiency of a simple setup with cheap water heaters. With induction heating as with standard water heaters you will still need a few kilowatts of power.

    Am I crazy?

Here's a thought, what about a non-ferrous pot with a ferrous object (steel plate or iron rod) inside the pot. The heat would then be generated inside the pot rather than the surface.

    Hello from Brantford Ontario

Hello! I've been a long time reader of this forum, enjoying all the ideas and discussions posted. HBT is an awesome resource. Anyhow, longtime brewer and gadget tinkerer, been brewing off and on since ~1997 and brew all grain all electric.
