    Brett Brux Trois Berliner Weiss

Reopening this old thread. Thinking about doing a berliner fermented with WLP644 as the primary yeast. Just curious of everyones results. Appreciate the response!

    How long can you wait

Should look for when fermentation is slowing down and the krausen has drops out. You want primary to be mostly completed, after most of the fermentable sugars have been consumed. Find a cooler place to put it or place it in a shallow bucket of water with a towel draped over hanging in the...

    Speidel Plastic Tanks

I use a thermowell with an airlock. Went to a science store and bought a solid bung and drilled two holes in it. Works great. Had a blowout with this one. 3 gallons of head space on a 5 gallon batch. JP Baudelaire is crazy and delicious. :)

Reeeeal quickie on Saskatoon (service) berry melomel

Reviving this old thread. How did your beer turn out with the berries? What kind of flavors did they impart? How much did you use per gallon? I have a tree in my back yard that gives a good yield. Thinking about souring a Belgian dark quad and aging on oak and the berries.

"Hop Tea" method for adding aromatics

I had no problems with that issue. You may either need a better press or try less hops and liquid in the press and do two pressing if necessary.

"Hop Tea" method for adding aromatics

From my experience, the volume doesn't play that big of a role. With more water, you might get a slightly higher extraction rate but you will just be diluting the beer that much more. Think of it as a coffee press, less water the stronger it is. I have had decent results using the press and...

    RIS Help!

I brewed this recipe with US-05 and WL High gravity yeast. The starting gravity was 1.097 and in 2 weeks it was down to 1.009! I couldn't believe it. Mashed at 152F. Needless to say the beer is boozy as hell. Plan was to throw it in a barrel but since it dropped so low, that is out of the...

"Hop Tea" method for adding aromatics

How much hops do you add per volume of beer and how much water do you steep them in? I recently brewed with a hop spider for the first time and had very disappointing results. I think the mesh bag I used on the spider was too fine and the oils didn't make it through. Tastes like an old IPA...

Custom Label Printing - Water, Smudge and Scratch Resistant

I just worked with Brandon to have 150 labels printed. They turned out great and for a great price. I am getting married in a few weeks and am giving away 22 oz bottles of IIPA to each couple as a favour. (Beer turned out amazing by the way) I had a friend design the label and sent Brandon...

Strawberry Saison with Lacto and Brett B

Never used that strain, but give it a shot. I would ferment on the warmer side of recommendation to really get the saison flavor. ~90-95F

Strawberry Saison with Lacto and Brett B

What yeast is it? It will make a big difference on your result. I used Wyeast French Saison and it is tasting so good. I did 5 gallons of clean and 5 gallons with Laco, Brett B and Strawberries. The strawberry version will take some time. I just racked it to secondary with the strawberries...
