I've had two sankey kegs in my garage attic for years and they need to go. $40 for both. Spears have been removed so they're ready for conversion to keggles. Pickup only in Indianapolis / Broad Ripple area.

Hard vs. Softened RO Feed water...

Harumph. Once again unnecessarily sweating the details. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Hard vs. Softened RO Feed water...

I had intended to use my RO water for calibrating equipment like my electronic hydrometer and table-top refractometer. Is my RO water (about 9 ppm tds according to the meter assuming it's calibrated correctly) "good enough" for that or should I have invested in a ion exchange column as a 4th...

Hard vs. Softened RO Feed water...

I certainly understand that it does lengthen RO membrane life, just trying to determine if the ends justify the means for my use case (< 300 gallons per year). I suppose if I have some pex & fittings laying around I should just do it. That'll be another few hours filled that I'd otherwise be...

Hard vs. Softened RO Feed water...

I recently purchased a 3-stage RO system from @Buckeye_Hydro (absolutely fantastic company to deal with) and am wondering if there will be an appreciable difference in membrane life or output water quality if I feed it with softened water rather than unsoftened muni water. Here in Indianapolis...

    Indiana (3.5) Empty Kegs $100

We bought a walk-in cooler at auction which had three 1/2 kegs in it. I can't find a liquor store to take them back without tracking sticker. Local pickup in Indianapolis only (seriously, the deal is for all four kegs). Near 16th & College. $100 OBO. They'll need a good cleaning!

    Sugarshine Mash

You need nutrients, specifically some nitrogen -- DAP would do that for you, also a teaspoon of mag sulphate (epsom salts), and a few crushed up multivitamins. I'd pitch a few more packets of the yeast. Better yet, get some EC-1118 at your LHBS as it has better tolerance for unpleasant conditions.

    Indiana Four keggles..

Four legit keggles bought from Geemacher about two years ago. Have been used for yeast propagation at Hotel Tango Distillery in Indianapolis. All have either a 2" or 1 1/2" TC TIGged to the bottom by Southside Steel. Speer has been removed from all. Cost is $125 each. It's more than a stolen...

    Ultimate EBIAB kettle wanted

I have a 160 quart ColoBrewSys kettle with tri-clamp fitted sightglass. To fully clean I remove the sightglass assembly from the kettle, disassemble that, and then clean the SG with a tubing brush. Not difficult, just unnecessarily time consuming.

    Ultimate EBIAB kettle wanted

I have to say... after owning kettles with sightglasses and etching, I have found the simplest, most reliable, easy to clean, and least expensive solution is a piece of 1/2 copper with volume marks on it. Sightglasses are the worst (PITA to clean) and I found steam/boiling action to hamper...

Have you dropped a bit of juice in a refractometer? It'd be good to know what you're starting with.
