    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

Brewing this again tomorrow. Gona try out my new shed since its our typical rainy mess here on the Columbia River. LHBS didn't have my yeast so went with 002 English ale. Also gona try a secondary with vanilla beans soaked in makers mark. Hope all goes well and I don't burn the place down.

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

So this is definitely the best thing i've ever brewed. I love this beer. It turned out just how I wanted it to. I was Gona give these out for Xmas gifts but screw that. Now I'm giving away my sub par cider and hoarding the stout for myself. It's the thought that counts right? I'm planning to do...

What's your occupation: Engineer or Non-Engineer

Sure you are, your a Geomatic Engineer! I'm actually in school now for surveying. Unlike engineers all professional land surveyors will get licenced. they have to, It's the law. 80% of all engineers that graduate never get licenced. So yes, people who actually design bridges are not licenced...

Historical Beer: Kentucky Common "Kiss Yer Cousin" Rye Kentucky Common Ale

Followed as is. The table sugar is also to recipe, it's what the op used to prime. I figured it was more true to the style of this beer. I'm not sure how readily available corn sugar was pre-prohibition. This is a nice drinkin beer. Smooth and a nice rye spice to it. Like i said before ill...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

It worked great for me. I let mine condition for at least 3 weeks. I can't control ferm. Temps yet so they were a little skunky/green for the first few weeks. But cream ale yeast for a cream ale made sense to me. Good luck.

    Might be moving to Utah

I moved from utah in '03 to tthe north west. Before I moved I had no problems finding good beer. I also have never let abv be a deciding factor in the beer I drink. I drink craft beer for its good flavor not its abv. Some of the best tasting brews ive ever had have been in utah, and at 3.2%. I...

    Name Your Beer

I call my cream ale "Left Burn". Cream Ale to me seems like a blue collar working mans beer. I can drink a lot of these after a long hot day slingin' pipe. A left burn is the guy on the job site who is the boss. He's easy to find just look for the burned left arm, from it hangin out the drivers...

Pliny the Elder, Really? Whats the hype?

So on the 4th of July I was at Fort George Brewing in Astoria, OR. As I usually am on the fourth. I got kinda excited when I heard they had a keg of Pliney the Elder since I had not ever tasted but only heard all the hype about this beer, most recently in Zymurgys best beers of the year issue...

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

I learned my lesson too. Now i always start with a blow off tube. This batch of c3c was awesome. It fermented like a full boil. I couldn't help but watch it everytime i walked by it. Update: after bottleing i got 44 12s. So that only comes to 4.1 gallons. I must be doin something wrong with...
