    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

8 degrees in Albany today, feels like -5 degrees. Smoking some wings for the Bills game. @4_Sons_Brewing, your beer is keeping me from freezing - any chance you can brew me a Quintrupple for next year?

    NEW GUY

Welcome to HBT! Don't make mead but I'm sure you'll find lots of likeminded folks who do.

    Kegging Question

Theoretically the CO2 should push the air out as you fill from the bottom of the keg. Not foolproof for eliminating O2, but better than just splashing into the keg.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for all the beers they sent to me this year. I really enjoyed them and am looking forward to working my way back through them all over the long Upstate New York winter. I don't have to wonder about the effort it takes to pull an exchange like...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

My thoughts exactly. I have one bottle left that I'm hoping to be able to salvage somehow. A really nice beer.

    Who's smoking meat this weekend?

Smoked Terry the Trout on Christmas Eve. Made a delicious smoked trout dip out of him.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

11th Beer of Christmas - @passedpawn's Christmas Gruit Beer pours a beautiful orangey-amber. Crystal clear with a thick white head that dissipates slowly. Absolutely stunning clarity - just a gorgeous beer. I'm a gruit virgin so I have nothing to compare it to, but I really enjoyed the...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

10th Beer of Christmas - @JAReeves 's Cranapple Lambicky Ale Amazing label jam-packed with context and information - nice work. Beer pours a gorgeous, crystal clear orange-amber with a nice white head that persists. No hops on the nose (none expected). Cranberry and Crab-apple is clearly...

I'll have to retry with my last remaining bottle. Would really like a full pint.

Not a problem at all - been there, done that. I really enjoyed what I was able to try.

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

9th Beer of Christmas - @GoodTimeCharlie 's Saffron Triple Love the label. Heads up to all (pun intended): Ran into some trouble opening this one (best to open in the sink just in case). Beer poured straight up with a tremendous white head that went everywhere. :). Tried a second one with...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

8th Beer of Christmas - @4_Sons_Brewing 's Caramel Quadrupple Fantastic label. Beer pours a beautiful dark amber with a thick tan head that persists. Clean nose - no hops detected, a distinctly Belgian sweetness in the aroma. Carbonation is plentiful and welcome. Caramel sweetness is...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

7th Beer of Christmas - @thetick 's Honey Ginger IPA Beer pours a nice orangy light brow with a tan head that persists. No hops on the nose (a surprise at this ABV) but the aroma has a very pleasant sweetness that I can't quite place as ginger or honey (maybe hinger or goney?). Following in...

    12 Beers of Christmas - 2023 Edition

6th Beer of Christmas - @Rish 's Gingerbread Brown Ale Love the label, one of my favorites. Beer pours an attractive brown with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Light spice on the aroma with no hops apparent (or expected). Spices stand behind the brown ale in the flavor. Pleasantly roasty...
