Check www.westcoaster.com. They have a comprehensive list of all the county breweries as well as an events calendar. There aren't any I'd say to stay away from, but the must see breweries are Alpine, Stone, Ballast Point, Alesmith, and Lost Abbey. I'm sure I left some out. No offense to those...

If you are driving try and stop by Alpine Beer Co. in Alpine, CA. It's about 30-40 mins east of San Diego, and well worth the trip. It's fairly nondescript but the beer is outstanding.

Ballast Point's Indra Kunindra is not one I'll try again. Also I HATED Avery Maharaja. To call that an Imperial IPA is a joke. It's a s****y Strong Ale if anything.

Go to www.westcoastersd.com. You'll find a brewery list, event calendar, etc. I can't recommend Alpine Beer Co. enough. It's about 35-40 minutes from downtown, but if you have a car it's well worth the drive.

Fit fat guy. Work out 5 hours per week, plus around the house chores. But I eat and drink whatever I want.
