Kegconnection's Black Friday / Cyber Monday Blowout!

Got my first kegs from last year's BF sales, and haven't looked back! Definitely going to pick up a few this year, as the prices just can't be beat ANYWHERE. On the topic of racetrack kegs, I prefer the traditional circle instead of the oval, but for the price, I would jump on it with extreme...

Never dump your beer!!! Patience IS a virtue!!! Time heals all things, even beer!

Well, I figured I'd end up here sooner or later with a story... Dumped a batch a few months ago, got lambasted for it by HBT, and recently had a batch that I THOUGHT was going to be a dumper for sure. Seemed oxidized, lacking flavor, etc. Well, I thought back to the good Reverend and decided...

    Infected - Help Me Diagnose!

No problem! HBT sees countless "Oh no infection!" threads and I know that the regulars get tired of it. Maybe next time I'll have the space to actually hang on to it.

Interesting. Next time, if things seem to be going south, I'll just keg and carb and hope for the best. Thanks, all!

    Infected - Help Me Diagnose!

Hmmm... Perhaps I may have been hasty in the pour. Fortunately, the grains were mostly left-overs from previous batches, so I'm not too sour about it. I'm just not so sure about how it could have possibly started tasting/smelling better later on. It actually made my mouth burn, very...

    Infected - Help Me Diagnose!

To further elaborate, all equipment was sanitized with a proper dilution of Star-San in hot water. Every piece of equipment was then sprayed with Star-San before being used as an extra-cautious step. Transfer was completed with an air-tight siphon. All fermentation vessels are glass carboys...

    Infected - Help Me Diagnose!

Grrr... So I check the milk stout that I had brewed about a month or so ago and realize that I have a definite infection. It's swimming the drain right now, so I have no pictures, but it tasted/smelled like rot/nail polish. What I'm trying to figure out is how/why it happened. Last I...

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Cool. I gave it a quick check and it seems solid, but I'll make sure before I actually put beer to bottle. Thanks!

We no need no stinking beer gun...

Hmm... Just tried to connect the racking cane and picnic tap and it cracked the tap. Should I replace the tap before trying this or do you think it will matter in the end? That is to say, as long as it isn't leaking, is it good to go?

    Overshot my OG. What now?

Eh. Just let it roll. It will still be good beer. Use this as a learning experience, and RDWHAHB.

    Alabama vote.

Oh heck yeah! I didn't know they were good to go now. Get brewing (legally!)
