Tennessee Beautiful Custom Built Hardwood Keezer

Really no way to price it honestly... I have about $1500 invested in everything including all the hardware, kegs, tanks, wood, tile, epoxy, led lighting, casters... etc... it's a unique piece that took a lot of time to build. So again... All serious cash or trade offers considered. :)

Tennessee Beautiful Custom Built Hardwood Keezer

The time has come for me to part with my keezer. It is a custom built, poplar hardwood, walnut stained show piece that would be the pride of any man cave or bar. It is mobile (It sits on a platform with 12 large casters), and separates in sections for easy transport. The front is built with lime...

    Yeast recovery from slurry

Yeah... I was most concerned with issues related to taste, particularlywhen dealing with add-ins like orange. :)

    Yeast recovery from slurry

Cool. Thanks! First time trying this. Where can I get some glycerin for storing in the freezer?

    Yeast recovery from slurry

So I racked a holiday ale into secondary today, and decided to save my yeast cake in a mason jar out of the primary. I just filtered the cake through a strainer to keep out the add-ins (orange peel mostly) I am planning on brewing another batch of the same brew. My question was, can I use the...

    Questions...

Johan, I sometimes boil the full 5 gallons, but most of the time only 2.5 to 3 gallons, chill the wort, and then top off the primary with distilled prior to pitching. -jim

    Questions...

I have never boiled the water I add to the wort, but I use distilled water. If I was using tap, I probably would?

    Questions...

    Meant "70-80 degree wort".

    Questions...

Are you using a wort chiller? If so, 70-80 degree water isnt going to bust your glass fermenter. :)

    Questions...

Also... I found myself getting frustrated with some of the kit instructions when I first started because some kits had more specific instructions than others. After my first few batches, I began to experiment a bit and realized that there are a small number of things thst were very important...

    Questions...

Sanitize, not sterilize. It isn't surgery, it is beer. Sanitizing your brew water seems like a real waste of time and sanitizer to me... It all gets boiled anyhow. Not sure about off flavors either.

Starsan residue in auto siphon tubes

I've brewed 10 batches using this tube. I think I might take eastoak's advice and pick up some more tubing. Why take the risk? :)

Starsan residue in auto siphon tubes

I have been brewing for about 1 year, and i noticed awhile ago that i was starting to get spots on my tubing and thief. I havent noticed any issues with any of my brews, but thought i would post to see if anyone else has this problem and if so, what they did to resolve it?
