    Bottling apfelwein

Hey Daze I bottled the apfelwein about 5 days ago and so far so good, no bottle bombs. Opened a bottle tonight and it's great, I do have another question, is it normal to have a very very small amount of sediment at the bottom? It's very minimal, I think I'm the only person that noticed it. Thanks

    Bottling apfelwein

Hey daze I just checked it and it's 0.998 with very very light carb. I shook the sample it the tube and it only gave a slight "puff" Should I let it sit for a few days and check the sg again before bottling? Thanks

So if you bottle and there's a light carb, will that eventually go away while aging in the bottle?

    Bottling apfelwein

It has been constant but, I can't filter, I don't have filtering equipment. I just degassed for about 20 min by hand with a plastic spoon and it seemed like it was the first time I did it each time? Do I need to stabilize like wine? I really just wanna bottle it. Is it worth it to buy beer...

    Bottling apfelwein

I want to bottle my apfelwein still in wine bottles. It has been aging in a 5 gallon carboy for 3 months, should I degas and wait a few days then bottle? I'd like to give a couple bottles away and don't wanna give bottle bombs. I took a sample last night and it's pretty good but it did have a...

    Apfelwein

I have a couple questions, I searched on the site but couldn't find what I wanted to know. My 1st batch has been sitting for 2 months and I wanted to bottle it this weekend. Do I have to degas? If so should I rack and let it sit for another month after degassing? Or can I just bottle it...

Any tips on yeast removal in bottle?

Hey Same sorta thing happened with a kit I recently did. I ended up pouring all the bottles back into the primary, added 5 campden tablets. Stirred it up then racked it back into a carboy topped it up with a similar wine and let it sit for a few more weeks. This past Saturday I racked to a...

    Sediment

I mixed it pretty well. I used a wine whip. Is there anything else I can do at this point? Should I try to add another clearing agent or just let it sit for a week or so?

    Sediment

Hey Steve, I went ahead and poured the left wine that was left in the bottom of the bottles through a non-bleached coffee filter. It tastes ok, still very young but the filter caught alot of the sediment. The 1st pic is the filter with the stuff at the bottom after the wine drained through...

Is there a temp range that you should store? I have mine in the garage. The temp varies from 45-55 degrees. If I keep it in the basement, it'll be around 65-70.
