My 4 year old Hallertau hops have passed the 8' mark. They are growing about 4" per day. I'm goin to have to extend the trellis upward sooner than I expected. This years plantings are only 3' tall.

I'm gettin ready to brew a 10 gallon batch of Hefe and I realized I am out of Hallertau hops. I've got kent goldings and target. Any chance of using either one of these?

I guess I went a little overboard with my yeast starter. I made a 15 gallon batch of pale ale yesterday. This morning, the lids were lying on the floor and beer was all over the walls. Did I loose this batch? I never had this happen before.
