so what's the worst part of brewing for you

Clean up gets another vote, I would put bottling in, but I refuse to do that anymore, that is why I keg now, bottling is the DEVIL!

Would you still brew if it became illegal

If brewing were illegal, I would absolutely still brew (assuming I could still get ingredients easily)

    non-craft drinkers complaining about homebrews

In the past week I have been insulted twice. I was invited to a dinner party with friends I have not seen in years. I asked what can I bring. Answer, bring beer. I ask, what kind of beer does X like. Answer, he likes IPA's. I bring a Growler of IPA. We arrive. I ask X if he has a glass I can...

Oldest beer in your Fridge ?

Have about 16 22oz bombers of a Vanilla Porter that I bottled 10/22/2011. First one we opened tasted great, thought I really nailed it. Everyone I have opened since has been a chalky gritty nightmare. Haven't popped one open in about 8 months, keep meaning to.........

Third attempt and still no good!

Agreed, however I cannot tell you how many times I have reached for a unsterilized spoon to stir with the immersion chiller (use stainless steel for mashing, plastic for the immersion to keep from beating up the copper).

Third attempt and still no good!

Wood is very hard to keep sanitary, I would recommend the plastic, or get stainless steel.

    Recomended mash tun for 10gal?

We do 10 gallon AG batches, and the 10 gallon cooler is way to small to use as a mash tun, you will want the 20 gallon, think ours is 16gallon, and it is too small at times, especially with beers with a big grain bill.

    Best beer in a can

I just loved some of the judges notes....Tecate for example "favorite because of its caramel color, lusciousness, and bold beer flavor". That one especially made roll around laughing.

I have been head lights deep in mud, didn't have to shoot it thankfully.

jeep wrangler owners lets see your rigs!

Absolutely, I just like to make little jabs at people who buy Jeeps (or other inferior 4x4's) and the rubber never meets dirt.

Another of those "don't dump your beer" threads

I would agree, our beers usually taste best after 8 weeks, (this one was actually 9 weeks, thanks Chowe for the confirmation). However, typically I can taste once fully carbed and know where the beer stands, I don't usually dump it out in disgust as I did with this one.

what beer style do you most consistently make good

Chowe, admit it, you were not pleased with it until yesterday. So I got an ingredient wrong, I drink beer!

what beer style do you most consistently make good

According to our water tests we should be making Stouts and Porters very well, which we do, however it is the IPA's that for some reason turn out to be absolutely spectacular. Yea we have to adjust our water to brew them, but man, our IPA's are amazing.

Another of those "don't dump your beer" threads

So, my brother and I brewed a new recipe about 2 months ago, it was supposed to be a red. Well it most definitely was not a red then and still is not to this day. The 1/2 lb of chocolate malt (10 gallon batch) really screwed this thing up as far as color goes, dark brown, no red at all. Anyway...

Anheuser Busch and their deceptive marketing

    A) How are these companies taking advantage of anyone....Well lets see, they take advantage of consumers ignorance, that is why cold is a flavor, triple hopped is supposedly amazing and unique, we have terminology like "cold brewed" (wtf does that mean), and "drinkability" (??), wide mouth...
