    Forgot to take OG prior to pitching

    I had a brain fart today, and forgot to take an OG sample until after I'd already pitched yeast ( like 2 minutes after). Any idea what effect, if any, this will have on the accuracy of my OG reading? Thanks!

    Need help with blow-off assembly

    I want to rig up a blow-off tube for my conical fermenter. I was planning to use a rubber stopper with about a 3/4" hole in it to accept a piece of 1/2" ID tubing. Any advice on how to drill such a hole in a rubber stopper? Any other suggestions for a simple blow-off assembly? Thanks!

    Sanitizer for stainless fermenter?

    Recently bought a S/S conical fermenter, which I've yet found time to put to use. Can you all give me some advice on the best sanitizers to use with stainless? I've been using One-Step with my plastic fermenters, is this stuff okay for stainless? Is a rinse with boiling water sufficient? Thanks!

    5 gal. Rubbermaid large enough?

    Want to make a mash tun from a round Rubbermaid water cooler. I make 5 gallon batches, nothing really high gravity. My question - is a 5 gallon cooler sufficient, or should I go with the 10 gallon cooler? Thanks!
