    First all grain batch - mash question

    I use 1.5 qts water per pound of grain so that should give you 4.3 gallons to mash with and follow it up with 4.3 gallons for the sparge. This should give you right around 7 gallons of wort for a five gallon batch. You should get around 75 to 80% efficiency.

    Are the Blichmann Boilermaker pots worth it?

    Get an old keg for about $30-50, a ss valve for about $40, and a thermometer for about $40 and you have a 15 gal pot for $130 or less.

    Give it time, heavies take more time to carb. What temp you storing it at?

    Would it be possible to split a five gallon batch between two five gallon kegs as long as you purge the kegs with CO2?
