    Hobbies for my father while he is quarantined?

    So my father is ill and is undergoing a bone marrow transplant soon. He will have to remain quarantined 1500 miles from home for several weeks up to a few months. There's only so many books you can read. Anybody have ideas on things to do? I think it will help him to have things to keep his mind on.

    How do i adjust srm as efficiency goes up?

    So I am looking as a Black Butte Porter clone that accounts for 70 percent efficiency. Mine is closer to 80 so I reduced the amount of overall grain but kept the percentages the same. The SRM went down by 8 points. So how should I proceed in cloning this beer?

    Irish red with US-05?

    So I have a recipe for an Irish Red and a white labs vial of White Labs 004. Im making 10 gallons and probably won't be able to make a starter before my planned brewday. I do have a few packets of US-05. So I guess my question is: Should I move back brewday till next week and use White labs 004...

    Conan Yeast, watery mouthfeel

    So I just tapped my ipa with Conan yeast. That yeast is a beast with 88 percent attenuation. Now I have an ipa with an FG of 1.006. So now I'm trying to figure out how to up the mouthfeel. So mash at 155? Add some oats? Both? Something else Thanks guys!

    Adding gypsum to the keg?

    My IPA is just getting carved up and tastes smooth and hoppy but lacks the crisp bitterness I'm looking for. I used distilled water, lactic acid and calcium chloride but no sulfates. So I was thinking about dosing gypsum per glass and scaling up to the keg. Anyone done this? What do y'all think?

    Isnt this supposed to be relaxing?

    After another particularly stressful brewday. My 4th batch on my current setup consisted of two clogs in my Rims system including one in my plate chiller that I couldn't fix. Isn't this supposed to relieve stress rather than create it?
