    How much loss from the Primary?

    When you brew a heavier ale, like a Scotch Ale for example, in a 5 gal carboy, how much would you expect if any beer to loose from any overflow from excessive bubbling? Is it normal for this to happen? I lost some, and thought maybe it was due to cleanliness, but everytime I've ever done a...

    Dumb Bottling question.

    Aside of bottling from a pressurized keg, is there anyway to bottle without getting the sediment on the bottom? I would assume no, since you need some sort of sugar for the yeast to consume, and thus leave a sediment. Thought I'd ask anyway.

    Added water when racking.

    Oops. I think I may have made a boo boo. I noticed that when I was racking that initially hadn't added enough water the first time when sparging to give me a full 5 gallons. So, thinking it's no big deal, I added about 1/2gal of cold fresh water to bring it up to 5gal even. Now, I have to...
