muhteeus, I couldn't get your logic file to open in RsLogix Micro or RsLogix 500. Kept giving me a unexpected file format error...not sure why.

I was playing with the emulator today at lunch and what I think I'm going to do for temp control is use GRT & LES with like a 5 second TON delay to turn the element on and off and analog inputs with the 4-20ma transmitters to get my PV for the vessels. I'm thinking that'll get me where I want...

muhteeus, I see you went with a separate temp controller instead of the PLC PID function, was that just to simplify the logic or does the 1200 not have the PID function? I'm thinking about going that way using like at STC-1000 or something just because the SLC500 5/01 processor can't use the PID...

Ebay just search for 4 20 ma temp transmitter. I ordered five this morning for $40. I still gotta get the RTDs, but just search for PT100 and a bunch will pop up just make sure you get the three wire ones. Also on the transmitters I've seen some that have the zero and span screws filled with RTV...

You can download RsEmulate 500 for free from AB. They did that when they came out with the Micrologix line, it is under the Micrologix download page, but it works with RsLogix 500 and RsLogix Micro. You can get RsLogix Micro for free but it only works with the Micrologix 1000 & 1100 and they go...

The SLC500 Fixed Hardware style I have only allows for two modules besides the built in relay / dc sink I/O. My wife's out on maternity leave so I'm doing a lot of this project on the cheap, the fixed hardware style is a lot cheaper then the modular SLC500s. I looked at the different temp input...

I'm curious if anyone is willing to share their ladder logic for their automated brew systems. I've started getting my stuff to make a PLC brewery. I've got a AB SLC500 Fixed Hardware 1747-L30C, expansion chassis and two 4 point analog input modules. I also have RSLinx/RsLogix 500 and...

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

You must be a lot neater brewer then I am. I always have water all over the place from cleaning when I brew in my garage. I was thinking more just being able to hose out the floor when I'm done brewing is why I'm looking at solid floor surfaces. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Home Brew...

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

I'm thinking about being able to set hot equipment down on the floor is why I was thinking of staying away from vinyl or linoleum. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Home Brew mobile app

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

I'm building the floor first and it's going to be on a gravel pad with concrete blocks so I can just jack up one side till I like it then build the shed on top once I get it where I want it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Home Brew mobile app

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

I haven't got a clue on what the slope should be by code. I just wanna avoid ponding but keep it close to level as possible. I have this exact shed at my hunting property and it doesn't feel crowded when I'm in it, plus I can't go any higher with my HOA without going to a hardiplank/composition...

Thanks 1/4" it is then. I thought about linoleum or vinyl too it's not that big so I could probably get it as a left over for next to nothing. I'm thinking about just painting it with deck paint too. Tile wouldn't be that bad if I did it before I installed the shed. It's square so I'd only need...

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

Got my shed ordered today. Should be there in 18 days so it should be there a little after I come back from offshore. I finished the dirt work before I left. I dug down 6" then back bladed the bottom down with my little tractor and compacted it with a hand tamper. I'm gonna add 3 yards of...

    Backyard vineyard done!

Wish I had some more room I'd try those blanc du bois out too, it'd be nice to be able to have enough variety to do some blends, I can probably do a little with 4 varieties.

    Backyard vineyard done!

I went on a trip to Fredericksburg a couple years ago and went to five or six wineries. Every single one of them had bought grapes from somewhere else because they were in the process of re-growing all their vines. They had all been wiped out by pierce disease a year or two before. Black spanish...

Anyone used whiskey yeast for a big beer

I've never done it or heard of it being done but I say go for it. That's one thing I love about homebrewing is being able to experiment and try something out you can't get on the shelf. Let us know how it turns out.

    Backyard vineyard done!

I finally got my vineyard done. I planted 6 muscadine vines (carlos, big red & isons) and 2 black spanish vines. I went with a double geneva curtain trellis system. At my last house I had planted one vine on a double geneva, two on a chainlink fence and one on a single wire trellis, the double...

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

It's a storage shed not a mechanic shop or even a garage. It'll be no different then washing out the garage with a water hose except it won't have standing water if I put a slope/drain in it. I could just slope the whole shed and have it drain out the front of the shed.

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

Yeah poured foundation is out of the question. Concrete is about 14$ a sq ft here with a 5 yard minimum. I could do it myself but that's more work then I want to do with my little HF concrete mixer. I guess I should have said that this will probably be my brewery for 3-5 years until I can get my...

About to start my backyard brewery, need help

I think I'm gonna go with a 6-8" gravel bed a foot wider/longer then the shed with 4x4 skids on top of that so I shouldn't have much flex, but where I live the ground is primarily clay so I won't have much flex but there'll be some heaving of the entire shed. Foundation repair is big business in...
