    Brown ale/porter mix

My friend had Rock Bottom Brewery Molly's Titanic Brown Ale in Denver and was trying to see if I could make something similar. Apparently it is a mix of a porter and brown ale. I couldn't find any clones of it. Wondering if there were any other example of a blended beer like this? Thanks!

Can I add fruit extract to growlers?

So i brewed up 5 gallons of a wheat beer that after fermentation I will put into a soda keg to carbonate with CO2. I have a few friends who want to try a blueberry or raspberry wheat beer...however I don't like fruit beer and not a huge fan of fruit extract as it tastes artificial to me. The...

    Wheat ideas?

I'm looking to do a wheat beer and come up with a recipe based on some ingredients I have. I have: 50lb of 2-row malt and 50lb of white wheat malt along with us-04 and 05. Any thoughts of how I could use those as a base for a wheat beer and then add specialty grains as needed?

Safale 04 and 05 yeast starter?

I am new to using dry yeast. I used the 05 for. 5% ABV beer. My question is in general, for a bigger 7+% ABV will one packet work or can I do a type of yeast starter (if so, how do I do that with dry yeast) or do I just need to use two packets? Thanks!

    Yeast for Double Bastard Clone

I am brewing a Double Bastard clone that should have a pretty high OG. I'm trying to figure out how to handle the yeast situation. The clone calls for a WLP California Ale V 051. Instead of just buying a new one and doing a yeast starter I was wondering about another option. I just brewed...

Brew in a bag for big beers

I'm looking to do a brew in a bag for a big beer 10%ABV. I've done this for basic beers with about 12lb grain bill for a finished product of five gallons but haven't tried the method with 20lbs of grain. My kettle is big enough but does anyone have any suggestions for brew in a bag with a big...

Replacement for WLP 002in dogfish clone

Just found out my yeast starter for my dogfish clone I was going to brew was ruined. I was going to use wlp002 but now am out. I have wyeast 1056 American ale and wyeast 1028 London ale. Would either of those work? I saw a post where someone actually blended the two but not sure if that...

    All Grain Big Citra IPA

I basically have a ton of 2-row malt and 10oz of Citra Hops and I was hoping to make a large Citra beer. I know Citra can be overwhelming and in a 5% beer you have to be careful. But in a 9% to 11% beer how many oz do you think I can get away with? Or my other thought is are there any...
