    Bypassing fridge thermostat. How?

I researched a lot, and was a bit worried about cutting the wires, but installing my temperature controller took about 5 minutes once I got to it. The fermentor/kegerator I have is a Kenmore 5.7' model, no ice compartment, its part number is 9588. This model has a digital display on the front...

    carlsbad chronic clone

That looks spot on to what Kirk McHale originally brewed, he invented the Chronic (although, I think he used a few of hemp seed). Btw, Humbolt Hemp Ale is still brewed and bottled, it is a bit darker but very similar. I think he did that one too. Your recipe looks great.

is another reason wort chillers work because they keep the lid off

How do you guys get oxygen into the wort? Seems like everyone is shying away from just stirring it (with a spoon) in the ice bath. That has worked fine here. Recently, picked up a 02 canister from Lowes and fitted it to aerate my yeast starter, thinking about using it on the wort too. The...

They still brew and sell the recipe as Humbolt Hemp Ale, it is a bit darker, but tastes almost the same. He also sells a kit called Marry Wanna Beer, which has the...

    carlsbad chronic clone

Has anyone tried to clone Pizza Port's Carlsbad Chronic? It's a malty slightly hopped pale, more of a session beer. I'm having some trouble finding a starting point, may have to head over there and taste it again. thanks.

    Oktoberfest Style Ale Recipe

Here is a pretty good podcast on the style, not as entertaining as most, but very true to form: http://s125483039.onlinehome.us/archive/Jamil03-27-06.mp3 If you are into brewing up a Marzen check it out.

    Pointers on Firestone-Walker Pale

Great link(s) Humann_brewing, thank you very much. The Link to Mission St well documents the podcast, the podcast is well worth the listen (pretty hilarious, I'll be looking for more of their work). Off to the Trader's!

    Pointers on Firestone-Walker Pale

This thread looks pretty dead, but anyways let's see if anyone is out there... Firestone Pale is a favorite session beer of mine too, comparable to Sierra Nevada, but better in my opinion. There is a big difference between Firestone Pale, which they brew under different labels for different...
