Awesome SS Kettle Deal w/ ball valve and thermometer

Mine so far as I can tell is still in the "pre-orders" stage. I hope I can get it by next week (dent free) so I can do another batch. My oxide layer on the aluminum kettle I have is kinda gone, and I'd rather not waste the propane anymore to keep it up.

When they say Stainless with brass nipple and barb... aren't those two the same thing?

Heart of the Valley Competition in Albany May 17th and 18th

I entered in this one. First time entry, but I just want to see what other people think of my beer.

    RaspberryPi = Game Changer

Personally, I'm more drawn to the UdOO board for the same purposes. Partly because I'm lazy with soldering, and feel like the freescale iMX6 will have more longevity, given a roughly 4-fold increase in cpu power.

    Gas shutoff/check valves leaking

Where were these from? I discovered my new co2 setup from KC completely empty after 2 weeks of slow draining that I was unable to detect.

    Saison BBD Saison Furtif

I just kegged this for keg conditioning (hit 1.004 with the Whitelabs Platinum version) while I wait for my fridge (this weekend) Tasted excellent! From the description you've given, I'd say the WL yeast gives a very similar flavor. Definitely no need to add spice or anything when using it.

    Winter is coming.

You should, because they're amazing, and you miss a lot even when HBO does the series. OT: I'm thinking of getting a turkey fryer kit for faster boils and going to my garage as well. So long as there's an opening, CO won't matter. Hell, you could set up a fan to push air toward the door, but...

    Saison BBD Saison Furtif

Did this with Wlp566 (platinum series yeast). Couldn't get 3711 in time for brew day. Sitting in about 72-78 ambient temperatures while I'm out.

    Primo Stir plate made easy

You can take me off the list. I ended up finding an older Fisher stirplate on ebay for 20bux.

Quick and simple fermentation chamber build...

I was wondering if the compressor free fridges could be used in ferm chambers effectively! Maybe once I get paid I'll do this.

    Saison BBD Saison Furtif

Yeah, I'm going to look at the one in Salem. Their parent company (homebrewheaven) has it listed. You did a starter, correct? I'll be trying the extract version with a 3-3.5 gal boil. This sounds like it'll be pretty damn good, so hopefully I can get it brewed in the next couple weeks while...

    Saison BBD Saison Furtif

I did a search on this thread, but couldn't find it.. As far as I know, my LHBS only has pacman wyeast, some others that aren't 3711. They do have a lot of WL yeasts though. Is there an equivalent to 3711 from WL? If not, I can try to find it at other HBSs somewhat near me.

Guide to Making a Frozen Yeast Bank

I wish they had 2 oz jars, but maybe ~50-60ml of yeast slurry and the rest glycerin/water solution would do too.

Guide to Making a Frozen Yeast Bank

According to this thread: http://www.thebrewingnetwork.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7769&start=8 you can't autoclave them. I have no idea how I'd sterilize them, which is why I ask if there's bigger vials that are autoclavable. Granted a starsan soak could be effective, but I don't want to...

No, but they're made of plastic, as they're just 2L pre forms. So I would assume that they aren't.

Guide to Making a Frozen Yeast Bank

I was thinking it'd be possible to freeze a good amount in a vial like White Labs sells theirs in (a good 30ml? whatever the amount is they sell). However, these aren't autoclavable.

Guide to Making a Frozen Yeast Bank

Are there any larger autoclavable vials than in the op? I'd rather not have to do two starters to get a frozen vial ready to pitch. Or would a well stirred starter on a stirplate with one of these vials allow for good propagation?
