Carbonation experiment - Am I asking for trouble?

The project has been abandoned. I opened the bottle after 8 hours and nothing.... but no big deal. It was just cloudy white zin. Force carbing sounds like the best way to go. I don't like white zin but when pretending its cider its not as bad. lol

Carbonation experiment - Am I asking for trouble?

You know now that you mention it I think you're right about it not working. There are sulfites in wine usually which kill the yeast. I'll carefully pop it in 6 hours and see if anything has happened.

Carbonation experiment - Am I asking for trouble?

My Dad loves white zinfandel and is coming to visit. So I bought some and decided to try an experiment. I filled up a 12 oz bottle and put in 1/8 teaspoon of rehydrated bread yeast. I was hoping to make it drier and bubbly (probably better too) just for fun. I am a bit concerned about it...

    anyone use paint.net?

I've been using GIMP which is a very powerful free open source image editor. It's on the same level as Photoshop. It's worth learning how to use. It sounds like what you want to do involves "layers" (superimposing one image over another). You can't do that with MS Paint. I don't know about...

    For Lovecraft fans

Sandy Petersen - cool! My label might get famous! lol In the interest of full disclosure I did not create the arwork. I wish I did. Credit goes to www.mattdixon.co.uk. I don't normally get into Lovecraft until the fall/Halloween and the autumn ale got me thinking about it. I might have to...

    For Lovecraft fans

That clip for Whisperer In Darkness looks great! By the same people who made Call Of Cthulhu a few years ago which I highly recommend. Low budget and fan-made.

    For Lovecraft fans

5.8% oops! I guess I accidentally left the 1 off. :) (kidding) I'm still thinking of a brewery name and had considered "Mad Mountain Brewery". I'll be making a stronger Lovecraftian winter warmer next. This is kind of an odds 'n' ends 2 gallon recipe. Since it has my last two cans of Mr...

I just brewed a batch of autumn/Halloween ale for this fall. My third batch of beer and my first label.

    My first non-Mr. Beer 5 gallon brew—Disaster?

Thanks everyone for all the responses! I feel a bit better about it now. I was worried about the pitching temp too. It was probably a bit warm so right away I put it out on the porch for 3 hours to bring the temp down. It was in the low 60s outside. I think 3 gallon pot is what I'm...

    My first non-Mr. Beer 5 gallon brew—Disaster?

Hello All, I just did a 5 gallon red ale kit by Brewer's Best tonight. I went out and bought a 6 gallon fermenter today and was kind of excited to try it. I wasn't quite ready but went ahead anyhow. Here's what happened. I needed to boil 2.5 gallons and thought my pot was big enough but...
