I keep mine in the garage with all of my other brewing hardware..no worries.

A couple of my Cascade have climbed 12 feet or so and are starting to produce cones. Mt. Hood on the other hand is still only a couple of feet tall.

It is a Bilchmann Boil Kettle

My kettle is 10 gallons, so I do 5 gallon batches. My issue is that the dip tube hovers just above the bottom of the kettle. When it drains, it pulls all of the liquid out.

What is the best method of filtering hot break and hop debris using a Blichmann (or any) boil kettle before chilling wort with a plate chiller. I fear debris build up, clogging or contamination of my plate chiller. I made a hop spider but will that be enough? My other issue is how to use...

Going to have a double brew day: Amber Ale and a Bavarian Hefeweizen

Anyone have any good DYI ideas / recommendations for filtering hops and hot break matter prior to running through a plate chiller? Curious as to what others do, successes and/or failures

Just an update, the soda bottles have been in the fridge for 2 weeks. I tried another one last night and the strong yeasty flavor has subsided. The soda turned out good, but not great, and will not have to be discarded.

I did this a few months ago and came out darker than expected as well. It drank really well and quickly :drunk:

I have always enjoyed French Broad and Asheville Brewing Co. I like French Broad's 13 Rebels, Anvil Port and Gateway Kolsch. Asheville Brewing has great beer (Shiva IPA, Roland ESB and Ninja Porter) and Pizza.
