    Beer stores in San Diego

Pizza Port in Carlsbad (30 miles north of Downtown) has a great bottle shop. Also, Beverages 4 Less in Santee (intersections of 52 and 128 fwys) has a great selection. Downtown, The Best Damn Beer Shop in 7th has a great selection of bottles. It's on the edge of the bad part of SD, but is...

    American macrobrew clones!

AB is very up-front about the fact that they use rice as an adjunct.

    The best drinking city

The difference between Miami and Key West is that KW does have a very high law enforcement presence, they're just extraordinarily tolerant. Don't openly do drugs, don't drive drunk, and don't be an aggressive panhandler and the cops leave you alone. Want to walk drunk and mostly naked down the...

    The best drinking city

For beer? That's an easy one. San Diego. A few years ago I would have said Denver, but San Diego has quickly surpassed it and is quickly becoming the Napa Valley of beer. Stone, Green Flash, Port Brewing/Lost Abbey, Pizza Port, AleSmith, Ballast Point, Alpine, and 50-some others that aren't as...

How many have had brew days/weekends ruined by FedEx?? - possible theft here

Do you really live in that crappy of a place? I've never lived anywhere where I've had to worry about people stealing packages left at my front door, although I will leave a note asking them to leave them on the back porch if it's something expensive. In your case, tape a note to the door...

    Hey Floridians...

Be sure to try some Cigar City beers while you're here. They're really, really good, and you can't get them out of state.

"brewers" in Salt Lake County jail hospitalized

Sweet! And to think I assumed it was copious beer consumption that made me hurl after all those parties back in college... If it wasn't the beer that made me sick, I'll blame the cheap plastic cups! Or maybe I have a sensitivity to the plastic used for the beer bong... :mug: :tank: /I took...

So, you are at a non-craft beer place... What do you order?

Yuengling is just as prevalent here as BMC so I usually get that if there is nothing more interesting. Barring that, I'll usually get a Budweiser. Sometimes Coors or Miller if I'm looking for a corn beer. As much as I love craft beer, BMC make a good product and it has its place.

How much beer do you drink daily?

Source? I'm skeptical about that claim. Ethanol is ethanol is ethanol, and it's the EtOH that causes liver problems. Beer and wine just contain it in more diluted amounts, but a standard 1.5 oz shot of 80 proof liquor contains the exact same amount of EtOH as a 12 oz 5% beer. As to whether...

    Interview with Terrapin

Hopsecutioner is hands down my favorite IPA. This may be blasphemous, but I like it better than even Pliny the Elder and Jai Alai. They are one of the few breweries that I can honestly say I've never had a bad beer from. Cigar City is the other that comes to mind...

Budweiser changes the color of its can....

An American style beer, made in the United States by American workers, in no way qualifies as an import. Even if you don't like AB beers, I highly recommend taking a brewery tour of your local AB brewery if you get the chance. It's a very impressive operation they have going on. The one in...

Anyone been to the virgin islands?

I spent a week on Tortola; it was absolutely gorgeous. Even if you're staying on the US side though, bring a passport and take a day trip to the Baths at Virgin Gorda. It's one of the coolest things you can do down there.

Can I increase alcohol level after adding yeast?

Easy! Go to the liquor store, buy some Everclear, pour it in. You've just boosted your alcohol level! :mug:

    Cheers to Michelob

Assuming Ohio is like most of the United States, employment is at-will. There's no concept of "wrongful dismissal" except for cases of discrimination. Employers can fire someone for any or no reason. Of course the employee is also free to leave for any or no reason.

Computer beer - looking for a name!

    TCP/IPA Octaltoberfest PHPorter VGAle I'm trying to come up with a BSOD reference but can't quite get it to work... And you totally need instructions on each label, something like: foreach(beer in case) drink();

    Cheers to Michelob

Michelob Lager is one of my favorite American-style beers. It's good stuff and one of AB's better brews. Isn't it all malt? I seem to recall that being the big difference between Bud and Michelob.

    Stouts

Wasn't nitro originally used to simulate the smooth flatness of a Real Ale (i.e. cask conditioned) but still use a modern pressurized keg? I've had Fullers ESB on nitro and on CO2. I much prefer it on the nitro. It tastes much closer to its proper form as a British Real Ale.

Anybody reusing the vodka in their airlocks?

I thought the whole point of using vodka for your airlock was that you got to drink it after the fermentation was done!

Red Hot Iron Inserted in Beer? Gustungling?

Go look up Three Sheets. Drinking Made Easy is terrible compared to that masterpiece.

How much light to skunk a beer?

Interesting. This is probably why beers start to taste funny if I'm too slow to drink them when I'm in my pool. I just assumed they were getting too warm. And my pool is screened in which helps (no need for sunscreen in the pool even in the Florida sun), but it must be enough to skunk the beer...
