Using Round instead of Square tubing for a Brutus Stand build

Some of the brewstands I've seen could hold 1000's of pounds literally. I'm not sure what the gauge thickness is of my toolbox, I've never actually measured it. If I had to guess, I would say 12 gauge. To be clear, I'm not attacking your BrewSteel designs in any way. From what I see, they...

Using Round instead of Square tubing for a Brutus Stand build

I'm definitely not hating on your designs (or MoreBeer, Sabco and BrewSteel for that matter). You will undoubtedly have to admit that all of your designs are at least a little bit overbuilt for reasons of liability. (Sad, but true statement of our litigious society today) The ones I am...

Using Round instead of Square tubing for a Brutus Stand build

If you like the look of round tubing or that is what you have available, then I say go for it! I'm tempted to make a brew stand out of 1/2 inch square tubing just to prove it can be done! Most of the ones I see on here seem like they were designed to have a Kenworth parked on top of them.

    Ferm Chamber Emergency

Lack of airflow through the condenser may have done it in. Space looks kinda tight around it.

    Skeeter Pee

Sulfur/Fart smell is usually hydrogen sulfide contamination. Skeeter Pee is especially susceptible to it because of the high acidity and low nutrition of the lemon juice. I have read that frequent aeration during primary fermentation helps prevent hydrogen sulfide contamination. I'm...

New Garage and the Phoenix Brewery

I'm really glad this thread got resurrected. Interesting to see this build from start. Glad to see you could find a silver lining from that smoke cloud, Warrior. Welcome back!

A sure sign that it's going to be a great camping trip!

We were car-camping on private land (doing some target shooting) The landowner was part of the group and had no problem with the alcohol coming out after the rifles got put away.

My Brew Stand - A Few Questions

Care to share some details on the plate chiller sale?

    vonZwicky's Mill Build

Nicely done. I like that you spent a little extra time with the router and gave it some details that make it look more "finished". I'd be proud to have that in my brewery.

Another AG noob - a few questions.

I have drank my first homebrew that I made myself and I am hooked! I have learned a lot by lurking around here, learning from other's experience and mistakes. I plan on building a Brutus style brew sculpture and I am still watching everyone else's builds to steal all their good ideas, but...

    A beginner's journey (the payoff)

Wow, I guess you have to be freakin out to get something going in the beginner's forum. No worries, I'm happy about what I've done.

    A beginner's journey (the payoff)

I was you. You are me. We share the same doubts, the same anxieties. Why did I buy that 20 qt kettle? It's too small to do 5 gal batches. Why did I decide to do extract first? I should have just jumped into all-grain first. Did I steep the grains in that first batch long enough? Was...
