    fermentation temp

    What can happen if fermentation temperature is too high? Its above 78 but airlock is bubbling like crazy. More than any other beer I made. How can I lower temp if I need to

    high temp

    I just brewed a pumpkin ale last night and the temperature might have been too high when I added the yeast. The bucket feels warm now and the temp is not showing because it only goes to 78 deg. The airlock is bubbling like crazy though. Should I try to bring down temp?

    Primary fermenter smells

    I brewed a batch and cleaned the fermenter (plastic bucket) with soap then sprayed inside with bleach solution and let it sit for a while. It smells like sour beer. Is it ever completely free of odor after using it?

    Irish stout too light

    I brewed an Irish stout from a partial grain kit. I fermented for two weeks. FG was steady for a few days. I was expecting the beer to be black but it was brown and not very dark. I will probably try this again any suggestions on how to get a pretty much black beer?
