    Short lager time?

I'm planning to transfer my pilsner from primary to secondary soon. I had planned to lager in the secondary for 3 months, but I was talking to a fellow brewing compadre who said he recently heard some of the experts, including Ray Daniels, say you can lager for only 6 weeks in the primary with...

    Best Oktoberfest kit

Thanks for the Brewer's best suggestion. Did you use the supplied dry yeast or something else such as Wyeast German Ale yeast?

    Best Oktoberfest kit

Looking to order something soon. Who makes the best extract kit...Midwest, Brewer's best, etc? Looking for an ale kit because I can't lager. I really like Saint Arnold's Oktoberfest which is actually made using ale yeast, but I can'f find a recipe.

    Ethical dilemma: Re: Mr Beer

I can testify that Mr. Beer makes terrible beer. Do not waste money on this kit!!! Every beer I made using the kit was cidery. The difference between Mr. Beer and even extract beer is night and day.

    First brew - fermentation problem?

Thanks. The current gravity is closer to 1.016 at 60 degrees. I thought I was being paranoid, but relative to the cooper's brew I was concerned. First time paranoia I guess. The cooper's continues to ferment like gangbusters...it's nuts.

    First brew - fermentation problem?

I'm worried that fermentation on my first batch didn't go well? I'm brewing an IPA extract kit with grains from my local brew, http://www.highgravitybrew.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=67&idproduct=2112 . It's been a week in the primary and a week in the secondary. There is no head or...
