How to wire Johnson Controls A419?

This was SO helpful!!! Between this and the instructions that came with the unit, I knew exactly what to do. It took no time at all to wire it, after I got the extension cord that I needed and then I made sure it was vertical on a temp set up until I mount it more permanently. Cheers!

Cheesehead on the southside of Chicagoland

Thanks for the welcome, I'm in Lansing. Wisconsin is always going to hold a special place in my heart, and my beer will be held by a special glass in my hand. Cheers to all. Where are you other southsider's?

    Yeast Pitching Temp?

I agree that your fine. I've done a Kolsch with a cooler fermentation and it turned out great. I would focus on the directions of the kit over the directions of the yeast packet. ... to kapbrew13: great advise, I believe I'm going to take that advise myself. hahaha

Cheesehead on the southside of Chicagoland

I've relocated down here for the next couple of years. I have been brewing for over a year now however with an extremely long dry spell since I've had any of my own homebrew, I finally am back at it. I bottled 2 cases of BB Red Ale tonight. I've been brewing on a basic set up and have been...

Thank you. It sounds like starter yeast may just be an optional thing to do with these ingredient kits. Great idea with personalized Labels. Nice touch!

I'm new to brewing and have been successful with the dry pitch a few times. I'm using brewer's best ingredient kits so everything is set to go, just follow...

    Glass Carboy with a hole

Actually, I went home and tested the vessel with water to see if it would hold fluid expecting to see water spouting out and found that what was thought to be a hole is an external chip. There is no crack in the glass that translates to the inside of the carboy. Now I'm wondering if it may...

    Glass Carboy with a hole

It is glass. The hole wasn't there on Wednesday when I was cleaning and scrubbing. Then I looked at it Saturday and there it was. Seems weird to me, I haven't been able to ask my roommate about it yet to see if it is something that he can tell me to explain it. Everything was solid on...

    Glass Carboy with a hole

I'm new to home brewing, I just purchased a bunch of used equipment and have cleaned it a couple of times and I was going to brew my first batch on Saturday and realized that one of my carboys aquired a hole about half way up the side. It wasn't there on last Wednesday when I was cleaning it in...

    Dawn Dish Soap

I just bought my first kit last Friday from a couple that had been brewing for 5-6 years. I thought I'd clean the carboys right away and used Dawn dish soap with lots and lots of HOT water. I have now come to learn that I may have made a huge mistake. I've bought bleach and was going to use...
