Texas Brewer's: Erlenmeyer Flasks

I live in Texas and own several pieces of lab glassware. It's an ansine law, because a lot of Meth cookers don't waste their $$$ on lab glassware. They prefer the anything cheap they can buy at homedepot or lowes method. It's a stupid law so when in doubt order off the internet...

    best way to add fruit

I know this thread is kind of old, but I thought you could vacuum seal the fruit in a Foodsaver bag and then heat it in a pan of boiling water to sterilize the fruit. The bags are rated for boiling.

    1 Gallon Blueberry?

The only way you'll know how long to ferment is to take some gravity readings. With Premiere Cuvee it should ferment down to 1.000-0.999. If you want any sweetness you need to stabilize it and back sweeten.

    1 Gallon Blueberry?

Yeah you can add more and more blueberrys. It will start fermenting some more. Now you could also take some of the blueberrys smash them up and make a simple sryup with them by adding a little extra honey to back sweeten, but you'd want to stabilize the mead before hand.

    1 Gallon Blueberry?

The only complaint I have with Melomels is sometimes fresh fruits like Blueberrys, Raspberry, etc don't tend to give you the flavor profile you're craving. I have found that using an extract around bottling can help. Blueberry sometimes gives you berry smell, but not much berry profile. If you...

    5 hour Energy

Man I wonder what they would say about my idea of replacing the water with Pedialyte to create an ale that re-hydrates you... I was going to call it the 'Hair of the Dog' Ale.

    5 hour Energy

Oh man, wow I guess you guys took this and ran with it. My concept was simple about making a Wheat styled beer and adding the 5 hour energy Berry version to it. I know that there are commercial brands available by Budweiser/Coors/Miller/Etc..and they're not very good (did you know they also make...

    best way to add fruit

I was talking about store bought frozen fruit. It tends to be heat pasteurize, flash frozen with nitrogen and the bags are nitrogen flushed. To me that good enough to use straight out the bag....

    5 hour Energy

Anyone ever brewed with 5 hour energy drinks? I was think a small 3gal batch of a wheat beer and adding a couple of 5 hour energy berry to it. I figured it would be a good brain beer for a Saturday mowing/yard work/etc ale. Does that sound crazy?:drunk:

    yeast cake question

Are you r\entering your beir(kolsch) into a contest? If you are then switch to the correct yeast...... Now if you want to be adventrous, go ahead and try it. One suggestion is to try and remove some of the trub(dump out some of the yeast after you rack off it). Go for it. You can't come up with...

    best way to add fruit

Awwww the old fruit question.. So many options: 1) Take the fruit and give it a Vodka bath (rinse the fruit with cheap vodka). 2) Soak the fruit in sodium metabisulfite to sterilize it. 3) Heat the fruit to strelize it (Might have to add a pectin to remove the haze) 4) Frozen fruit (which...

    Is my brew ruined?

It most likely has gone bad. Please PM me and I'll give you my address so you can ship it to me. I'll do my best to properly destroy it. You don't want it to touch your lips and you can't pour it down the drain with all the new laws against it......:drunk:

hydrometer: how to siphon the beer and wasted beer

    1) You could buy a beer thief to take a sample. 2) It's not worth returning the sample. Just drink it after you're done using it for your hydrometer.

    Raspberry/Blueberry Wine

I'd look for what they call Ice Wines. They're cold pressed and really sweet wines.
