Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I cut the dip tube on one of my kegs and wish I hadn't. If you don't cut it, you will just have to pour a couple of pints when you first tap it to get the gunk out, and then it will run crystal clear.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Look at BM's post regarding using gelatin finings when kegging your beer. I started using it and my beer is always super clear. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f13/gelatin-finings-53912/ "I use a tablespoon per five gallon batch. Mix it with hot tap water in a sauce pot, about 1 cup of...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

So I brewed this today and it was my first 10 gallon batch. Everything was going well until I went to add my second addition of hops at 35 minutes. I realized that I had been looking at the 5 gallon recipe when I added my bittering hops at 55 minutes. So basically I added .25oz of the...

I think i did my mash wrong

If you don't already have a hydrometer, you might as well get a refractometer. It's only cost a little more and is much easier to use. You may still want to get a hydrometer for post fermentation readings, but there are conversion charts you can use.

    ebay aquarium temp controller build

For heat, I use the top of my dehydrator that I use to make jerky. It's the cheap round dehydrator. It basically circulates warm air around my freezer to kick the temp up when needed.

    Sub $10 Drip tray idea.

I get out of work in 8 minutes and I am going directly to Lowe's. I was looking online at drip trays and just couldn't convince myself to spend $30-$40 dollars on a drip tray. No more Home Depot buckets for me!!

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Has anyone reused the yeast and just added wort and apple juice to a yeast cake from a previous batch that was just kegged?

    DIY Tap Handle?

I didn't make this, but picked it up the other day. Hopefully it will keep the scroungers out of my beer. Yes it is a turd.

Two of my favorite beer pics....

Bruno doesn't fart so much, but he is definitely a drooler. Train - I am sorry about your bulldog..... My mother just lost hers last week. Try reading this, http://www.petloss.com/rainbowbridge.htm.

    Are Grolsch bottles collectibles?

The liquor store by my house sells Grolsch singles for $2.39 or so... I pick up a couple every time I go there and save them to use for my homebrew. Pretty cheap for the beer and reusable bottle....

    Dumb hop related question

I've never used a bag, but I do use a secondary, so when I rack my beer into the secondary, the hops stay behind in the primary and my beer clears in the secondary. I have heard of people using the muslin bags for hops, but I do not have any input on that as I have never done it.

A funny comic, and a picture of Bruno watching me rack my Apocolypso Pale Ale.

Mash Tun - Stainless Steel Braid vs Manifold

I just found a whole thread on this subject (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f36/braid-manifold-68894/) . I should have read a little more before I posted. Thanks for the help, jet. I think I am going to go with the braid.

Mash Tun - Stainless Steel Braid vs Manifold

Sorry if this should have been posted in the DIY forum, but I wasn't quite sure where to put it...... I am gathering all of the equipment I need to start all grain brewing on my next brew. I bought a cooler and watched a few videos on youtube on how to convert it into a mash tun. What...

    Show Us Your Label

This is a quick one I made so that I could send a few bottles to a friend. I keg my beer, but use BierMunchers magic beer gun to bottle a few bottles out of each batch for friends. They got a kick out of this label.
