    I think Im going home to a overflowing fermenter...

    Don't stress. I had a clogged blowoff tube last night and after I pulled it to clean it, I pushed the grommet thru the lid. I just covered it with a starsan soaked cloth over the hole and went to bed. This is what I had after work today Cleaned it all up and now I just have a bowl over the hole

    Yeast starter mistake

    I just got finished with my first starter and it looked wrong to me, a lot darker than the ones I've seen in pic's. Then I realized that I used 1cup DME instead of 1/2cup and 2cups water. Should I be worried? It's for a chocolate oatmeal porter I'm gonna brew on Saturday.

    Starsan ?

    I've got a 5gal bucket with starsan mixed up that's about 2 months old. It's been sealed the while stored, and used for a few brew sessions. My question is does the stuff go bad? If so, how often should I mix up a new bucket?

    2nd batch

    First batch was a no boil extract(coopers lager), everyone but me liked it. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely drinkable, but that's it. I bought a partial extract for my second brew(ahs bav hefe), kinda nervous about the steep and boil, but got it anyways. Brewed it tonight, talk about fun...

    cooper lager/ale kit

    How hot was your ferment? I was able to keep mine between 22-26C and it tasted pretty damned good for being warm and flat before I bottled it.
