    1/2 gallon growlers

    I actually used 4 1/2 gal growlers for my last batch... And it worked fine. I just made sure i screwed the cap on all the way. Only problem was that nearing the last two beers all the sediment got mixed in. Make sure you rinse after use too they are quite a b**ch to clean if you dont.

    Better Bottles???

    I got a 5gal ported better bottle, and go figure the racking cane fits rite in. No more siphoning for me! :D Mine also leaked at first... just took about 2' of 3/4" tubing and tightend her up.

    I recently got two Ale pales and noticed that they had a strong smell comming out of them.. words cannot explain. Wash twice was still there. And also noticed that the smell of the previous beer was still there. Which unfortunetly has carried over both smells to my ESB :( . Was just wondering if...

    Ok i guess ill just bottle put at 70 for a few weeks then drop to 60 for the rest of the weeks... I used a teaspoon in the boil , grains were 3/4lb Munich grain, 1/4lb 20LCrystal. Amber, wheat and light extract to equal 8 lbs. With 7.5 oz of hops. Is there anything in the recipie or any...

    I recently made an IPA and rite now im at my second week of clearing, took a sample out and noticed it is'nt clearing to well. Would adding some irish moss in to the priming solution help it clear out in the bottles?

    Cleaning bottles question

    All i do is soak them in the sink with a nonscented dish soap, bottle brush, rinse then high temp water rinse them in the dishwasher.. no infections yet (knocks on wood)

    Caramel cream ale?

    I got a FG of 1.018 after seven days and noticed everyone else in the 1.001-1.010 range. Still not done? No activity in the carboy or the airlock.. just dont want to risk a bottle bomb.

    Well good news, the leak has basicaly stopped once the fermentation kicked in furthur. So i believe im in the clear till I empty and try to fixed it/fight to get it replaced. H202 worked fine, no sign of infection at all, it almost smells like strawberry cream, must be the german ale yeast...

    I started it on Tuesday, Jan 30. Theres a foam on the top about an inch thick but its not bubbling much.. lack of sugars im guessing. I used a 3lb bag of Muntons Wheat. And still have another 3lb bag of Muntons Extra light. Should i boil up 8 cups or so of water and add the light or is it too...

    Everything looks and smells fine so far. Believe im in the clear with the sanatization. This 35%peroxide is strong stuff, accidently drank a half and half mix of it with water. Burning throat.. puked a bit of foam... It didnt tickle... haha. On the down side this was the only bottle my local...
