    Look at my wood(and tell me if it's oak)

    My parents had a tree cut down some time ago and there are logs just sitting at their house. I'm hoping it's white oak that I can cut up for homebrews. Are there any tree geniuses out there that can identify a tree just by looking at the log? If you can't tell just by looking at it are there...

    No Sprout or Shoots. Time to replant?

    I recently bought 3 rhizomes(Mt. Hood, Sterling, and Cascade). The Mt. hood and Sterling had little white shoots on them and the cascade didn't. The Mt. hood took off like crazy and the Sterling is sprouting nicely, but the Cascade hasn't done anything yet. It's been planted for about 3 weeks...

    Hazy Mailbock

    I recently brewed a Maibock and lagered it @ 34F. It was crystal clear when I went to bottle. I used corn sugar to carb and it's been carbing for 3.5 weeks. Now when I chill it it appears to have chill haze. When warmed up it goes away. Is it possible to get chill haze when it was clear @ 34F?
