Soooo.... I "found" a 3yr old Carboy in the back of my basement....

It was a cider, well... is a cider. The Airlock is still intact. Apparently it just got missed, buried and forgotten. It has been at a rather constant temp, wrapped in a towel. What are the odds that is could be bottled and turn out well? Thanks!!!

    I couldn't wait!

I brewed THIS on 5/1. I doubled up on the carapils and crystal 20L though. It was a "dumb mistake"???? I am not sure yet. I bottle carbed w/ 4.5oz of Muntons KreamyX. I quick chilled a "tester" in the Deep Freeze for an hour, and just popped the cap. I heard a nice carb "pshhhhhhhhhhh"...

Muntons KreamyX - Same Quantity for Priming?

I have a package of this (Muntons KreamyX Beer kit Primer With Heading Powder). The package is 7oz (200g), and reads as follows: Directions: Use in place of priming sugar to carbonate 5 Imp. gallons (23L) of beer wort. Does this mean I should use all 7oz for 5 Gallons, or use an equal...

    How much of a difference....

..... would doubling the steeping grains cause? Would it, figuratively, change Budweiser into Sam Adams? :drunk: KillJoy

    What are the odds.....

..... of getting contamination... I brewed my FIRST batch today (an extract). I made certain to sanitize EVERYTHING! I was overly paranoid, so I did most everything SEVERAL times. Once I pitched the Yeast, I realized I had not sanitized the bowl I used to warm up in. :( From a lot...

Extract Kit - How do you "know" what to select?

Howdy! Due to some family issues, I am just getting to purchase my FIRST extract kit. THIS one has been recommended from Members here. Being new to Home Brewing, how do I know which Yeast to choose? Do I want Yeast Fuel? Should I get their Priming Sugar, or get something else? Do I want...

Which extract kit for my first brew??

I am ready to purchase my first extract kit, my first step into home brewing! I like Sam Adams Boston Lager, Pale Ales and IPAs, as well as Oktoberfest and Christmas Ales. What kit (or type of kit) should I get? KillJoy

    Man, This place is Hoppin'!!!

This place has floods of newbs on a daily basis! Oh well, I guess I will just roll in with the rest! I enjoy a good brew, but I HATE paying $10+ for 72oz (OR LESS) of a tasty beverage! I have been thinking about starting to make my own suds for several years now, and a few of the Vids on...
