Heady Topper Clone PM Conversion? Sorry!

Hi Friends, I'm sorry in advance for asking because I know the info is probably somewhere in the Heady Topper Clone Thread. I've been looking for the last 30min and can't find a definitive post though. I am looking to convert the best clone recipe to Partial Mash + if anyone has done...

    Ale Pail goes BOOM!

Holy Crap...I just settled into bead and was drifting off to sleep when I hear... BOOOOM! I jump out of bed thinking NYC is under attack. Sounds like a bomb just went off. Run into the living room but all is quite. But wait.....the door to my wine fridge/fermentation chamber is wide open and...

    Finally....some temperature control!

I live in a small NYC apartment so I feel like I face allot more challenges than the average backyard brewer. To make matters worse I have no control over the heating or sometimes lack-of for that matter. One day my apartmentwill be 85 deg and the next it will be 55 deg. After many years of...

Reason being is that I moved from a nice spacious place in NJ to a closet sized 600 sq ft apartment in NYC. I physically could not fit my equipment in my NYC apartment. This past week I said enough...

Soaking raw cocao beans in vodka...should I add more?

I am getting ready to brew a Chocolate stout. I have just put it into the primary. I plan on putting some raw cacao beans into the secondary. I crushed them into chunks and am soaking them in vodka for a week to extract the flavors. In total I am using 10oz of beans. I put them into a container...

22 hours to start done in 48?????

I finished up a Sierra Clone that took 22 hours before it started to ferment (no starter). Once it started it went very strong for almost 30 hours and was totaly done bubbling after about 48 hours. I know the only way to tell if it is ready is by taking a gravity reading but I am slammed on time...

    No fermentation....please help!!!

I has been about 22 hours since pitching the yeast into a Sierra Clone and still no action. At about 15 hours I shook the crap out of the fermenter and got about 2 or 3 bubbles out of the airlock a couple hours later. Now back to nothing again. I used a White Labs California Ale Yeast in a...
