    2nd Batch, no Carbonation??

Well, I finally put the growler I had filled up with this batch in the fridge. Poped it open, poured and got about a 2 inch head out of it. So like you said cweston, looks like some will and some wont. Still waiting on my kegrator parts. Thats what I get for asking a friend of a friend.

    2nd Batch, no Carbonation??

Ah, ok I was afraid of that. I dont know how each bottle in my first batch was fully carbonated then. Beginners luck I guess. Would it have anything to do with the amount of yeast in the bottles? Like I said, my first batch had a good solid layer at the bottom of each bottle. A very thin...

    2nd Batch, no Carbonation??

It was an American Brown Ale (kit from Morebeer.com) How much priming sugar did I use? It was 4 oz. which came in a package that came with the kit. I put it in a pot with I think was a cup of water, let it boil, cooled and pitched it in the bottling bucket Now, thinking about it, I did the...

    2nd Batch, no Carbonation??

Yes, I forgot to mention that. 4oz of liquefied priming sugar was added. I guess that's what really miffs me about it.

    2nd Batch, no Carbonation??

So, my first batch was a complete success. Great taste, great carbonation. But I thought I had rushed it a bit, so for my 2nd batch, I though I would do it by the book. 1 week primary, 2 weeks secondary, 3 weeks bottle conditioning (actually gave one bottle another week in the fridge)...

    Cracked open the growler and...

I have made beer! :rockin: Ok, so its only been just over a week since I bottled, but I am VERY happy with the results so far. The taste of the Amber Ale I brewed is great. It almost has a Sammy Adams BL taste to it. Has a good amount of carbonation, but I'm sure when I give the rest of the...

    Brewing with Pur water.

I brewed my first batch entirely with water from my RO unit. My water hardness out of the tap is about 400ppm...After going through the RO, it gets down to about 20ppm. So yea, theirs some stuff left over, but it makes for great drinking water. Should make for good beer.:tank:

    Victory Amber Ale

lol, thats the point guys :D Unfortunately it dosent really match the beer. Of course, its not going to be that big, so it should look different on a smaller label. If this batch turns out ok, I will label the bottles and take a pic. I also need to put the alcohol content on the label...

    Victory Amber Ale

A friend of mine just made this label for me. I know I'm getting WAY ahead of myself since my very first batch is still fermenting. But I'm optimistic :D

Hi everyone. I got a new kit from the family for Christmas. Found this board and got lots of great pointers so far. Made my first batch yesterday afternoon (Amber Ale) and this morning I awoke to a bubbling airlock! :ban: I've been reading the "How to Brew" book and its amazing how...
