    e-BIAB protect brew bag

I'm looking for some creative ideas on how to keep the brew in a bag from contacting the heating element. I've seen that some bayou classic pots come with a stainless basket which I assume would work but I'm interested in other ideas. Thanks.

I've got some vacuum packed hop pellets that have been stored in a -2 degree F freezer for 3 years. Should I just age these hops and adjust the recipe accordingly or just replace them?

    Growler Fill?

I'm going to my first growler fill tomorrow and I'm bringing my own 2 liter growler. The growler will be sitting in my truck all until I get off of work. Should I keep starsan sanitizer in it and just ask the growler filler to empty just prior to filling or just sanitize and keep it sealed? Thanks.

I have a 25-ft copper immersion pre chiller that I use with my plate chiller. I brewed last week in 100 degree texas heat and I was only able to the wort temp down to the mid 80's. This was using a very low flow rate from my march pump. I was thinking about adding another chiller in series. I...

    120V Dual Element Wiring Diagram?

I found the attached diagram posted by P-J. It is almost exactly like I need it with the following exceptions: 1) I'd like to have a main power selector switch (SW2) that would control power to all items in the enclosure. This would replace the PID power switch. In addition to the main...

    Spa Panel vs GFI Breaker?

I have priced the two options and they are within $5 of each other if you factor in the NEMA 14-30P power cable, NEMA 14-30R receptacle, and miscellaneous 10AWG THHN stranded wire and hardware. Other than the cost, what are the benefits of using the spa panel vs gfi breaker? For the price...

Leaving co2 line and disconnect on keg?

I'm between batches and I'm wondering if there is any problem with leaving the co2 line and disconnect on the keg without cleaning like the liquid components. My thought is that the co2 in the line will keep any nastys out. I plan to sanitize the disconnect prior to connecting to the filled...

I am familiar with partiyle style brewing but I'm wondering how different a brew can be with only varying the yeast? Basically, I want to avoid having to do separate boils which I understand limits the variables. Are there styles better suited for this experiment?
