Great, make me feel bad about mine now. lol. Overbuilt? Sure. Definitely pretty though. Hey OP, I'm sure the tin can will be fine for 1-3 uses, after that I would change it out. People use PVC for crying out loud. This aint rocket science. More power to ya. :rockin:

    Blichmann Floor Burner Measurements

Anyone know the measurements for height and width on the Blichmann floor burner? (Without leg extenstions) I looked on several websites, including the blichmann engineering site and can't find anything. I just ordered 2 burners and I'm trying to build me a 3 tier stand while I wait for...

    Starting the build!

According to the Blichmann specs: "A 72,000 BTU/hr burner that is a great blend of heating power and efficiency." AND the KAB6: "This propane burner kicks out the minimum of 210,000 + BTUs which are a result from a combination of the high pressure regulator and large 10 inch cast iron...

    Starting the build!

Maybe I'll find some love here, here's how I spent my saturday. Thanks BobbyM and BargainFittings for making such great products. All that's left now is to drill the eyebolt and calibrate these bad boys! Still need to decide on some burners. Thinking I might spring for the stainless...

Here's my new kegs! 10 gallon batches here we come

Just wanted to show off what a did this weekend, all that is left is to calibrate them today and wait for my burners to arrive. Anybody out there with a similar set-up use BeerSmith 2? I would love some tips on setting up my equipment profile. :mug: P.S. That cooler is the 52 Q coleman.

SQ 14 VS Kick A Banjo Burner Plus

Oooooooohhhhh They are modifying it for the width? I thought it was because the skirts on the keg made the bottom of the keg sit a little higher than a straight sided brew pot. I thought they were lowering it so it would be closer to the flame. I am way over-thinking this I guess. Two...

SQ 14 VS Kick A Banjo Burner Plus

Thanks for the input here, I really wanted the KAB6 but it looked like it sits a little high for a converted keg. I saw this thread about people modifying the KAB4 for the burner height: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/kick-banjo-burner-92713/index4.html#post1330429 Don't feel like buying...

Storage advice for kegs debuting at the NHC in Seattle

The NHC is June 21st! I'm traveling with my local club, and I have two batches that will debut there, does anyone have any long-term storage advice? The method most of the guys in the club are using is one where they put 30psi into it, purge it, then re-pressurize and shake it. Then they...

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

I don't know, I got it down to 80 degrees with my wort chiller and then mixed it with cold tap water. 1056 American Ale. I'm going to add some more as soon as I get it. Maybe I'll even use my super cool new starter plate! This is awesome. You made my day.

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

It was an extract kit. This makes me feel better because I did shake it pretty well, but I don't know. Next time I'll take more readings before and after I add top off water. This is actually really interesting because my yeast appeared to slow down and almost completely stopped after the...

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

It was the priming sugar normally used for bottling. Don't know why I wrote DME I'm NEW!

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

A: I followed the recipe, it told me to top off with 2.5 gallons of water. A: I did, I but I only had about 4.5 gallons left over. I think I boiled a bunch of water off during the boil. Again, I know I should've topped it off with more water to bring down the O.G., but I didn't because I...

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

I plan on kegging, not bottling, so I wouldn't need the DME that came with the kit. I added it to the boil for a little extra kick as far as ABV goes.

Newbie mistake, how can I fix?

Made the honey brown kit from northernbrewer.com, and the target gravity was 1.050-55. I ended up with a starting gravity of 1.080. (I DID add some extra DME to the boil because I am kegging[the bag that came for bottling].) I figured... awesome! Higher alcohol content. I don't need to add...
