Bottled my first brew, question on wasting beer in bottom of bucket?

It is thanks! My yeast cake did not look like some huge hard solid mass like those pics above, but maybe what I was seeing getting kicked up was the protein.

Bottled my first brew, question on wasting beer in bottom of bucket?

Hey all, Bottled my first brew yesterday. It smelled amazing, tasted good, everything went really well. But, I have a question, how do you get the last 1.5 or so gallons out of the bucket / carboy (no secondary) to your bottling bucket with out sucking up the yeast and hops? I feel like I...

Brewing my first batch of beer TODAY! Quick question about cornelius kegs & sugar

Yes, I'm sure thats true along with my other hobbies... I opted to not go to secondary because I just didnt have the time to swap over to the carboy, so I'm letting this guy sit for 4 weeks and going to toss the hops in tonight or tomorrow and let it sit another week. Then bottle it up and let...

what's YOUR SOURCE for brewing equipment?

Kind of confused why you would return (and I assume pay to return) a perfectly good kit. I got one for xmas, I am just going to build upon what the kit gave me.

Woot! Got my Christmas present from the wife, brewing kit from midwest supplies....

Actually stupid me, it was just the hydrometer that was broken not the thermometer... It looked like two different items that broke. Regardless, looking forward to brewing!!! Has anyone ever had an issue with midwest and shipping the wrong items or broken items?

After reading, it seems many skip secondary, however what if it says 6 weeks + time?

Bottle or Keg? - Bottle Recipe? - Was just using this extract kit as an example - > http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/baltic-porter-extract-kit-2.html But what I was confused about, is if it states 2 months to condition in the secondary. Would that step be skipped by leaving it in the...

After reading, it seems many skip secondary, however what if it says 6 weeks + time? For example, checking out some of the extract kits on NB, if they say "Allow the beer to condition in the secondary fermenter for 2 months beforeproceeding with the next step. Timing now is somewhat...
