Briess 50 lb 2 Row Brewers Malt $64.11 includes shipping

I have also wondered about Viking, its cheaper and if it makes good beer than I would by it all day and twice on Sunday. If the efficiency drops I will see it in my numbers and just adjust accordingly in beer Smith

My additions are: 6g of Epsom Salt 8g of Baking soda 9g of Chalk this is all calculated for 12 gallons of water...

    blow off tube problem

I put a blow off tube in my carboy as soon as I pitched my yeast, which I always do because I usually have a very aggressive fermentation. The problem came when I went to remove it, and this has never happened before, I started to pull it out and it sucked some of the water(~1/4 of a gallon)...

Thoughts on a wine fridge ferm chamber

Buy a small chest freezer, it will be cheaper and more efficient. unless you are wanting the appeal factor of being able to see your fermentation occurring thru the glass door.

    Help with propane plumbing

If it is ok I would like to piggy back onto this discussion. I am also building a brew stand with these same burners and have had these same questions, so thank you all. My question is how far away do you mount the burner from the bottom of the kettle? and, what was the easiest brackets to use...

Trying to build a fermentation fridge

I am building one from a medium sized chest freezer, ~10cf, and a homemade fermwrap from flex watt(~$17Delivered). Chest freezers are cheaper(typically no more than $90), they are better insulated and the access is on top and not the side, your cold air won't spill out when you open the door...
