The bigger pan right now will hold 3 gallons with 5 inches left to the top. I'm guessing it is about 15 quarts. So with my extract should i try to get as much water boiling as possible? As in using 3 gallons instead of 2 if it is possible. And, what is the best way to clean out a pan like this...

Overall i like the show just because it gets me stoked on brewing. No show will ever be as technical as the pros want it because it would narrow the audience. For a show on brewing i am pleased with it and will watch every episode.

The show does need work. First, the filming is absolutely horrible. It looks like they grabbed a bunch of old cell phones and went from there. Some of the non-moving shots are good but most are shaky and boring, especially the in-car shots. Second, the commentary sucks. They are just scripting...

Thought I should make one of these just to say hi and tell everybody this forum is awesome. It is so easy to find what you want and ask a question. Plus it is all about beer which makes everything better! So is there ever any group meets to talk about home brewing and hang out?

That is my plan. I thought the American amber sounded like a good base beer that would be easy to drink and not hard to make. And hopefully after my first brew turns out good I will try some different kits. And once I have become a knowledged brewer then I would like to start experimenting with...
