    Is my beer wrecked?

It could just be yeast rafts. I'd post a pic. Lots of newer homebrewers mistake yeast rafts for an infection. I'll post a pic of my infected pale ale if you want, lol.

Munton's CarbTabs Are Horrible - DO NOT EVER BUY THEM! (a fellow home brewer's rant)

+1, tbh this is the first I've heard of this problem. I wouldn't imagine a company that produces a product that ruins your beer would last very long. Though I could be wrong, but I'm probably not.

Since we have a pile of Socal members

This is a great addition to the forums. I'm down for beer swapping, I live in clairemont. I'll have out my Tall Dark and Hoppy black IPA soon. Picking up some ingredients for my next batch today @ homebrew mart in linda vista which will be a pale ale. Down the line a big brewday sounds like a...

    46 degrees too cold?

Come at me bro. I was drunk when I asked this question. Yeah you'll have to warm it up a bit.

    46 degrees too cold?

    What yeast did you use

    First all-grain brew

That is under review I believe. From what I read, squeezing your grain is a myth. That being said, I don't do it. I just got a new mash tun, and wroth it came a definite increase on efficiency. I think 63% is okay for your first batch. I was getting terrible effiency when I first started AG. If...

    Hops Question - American IPA

Recipe looks good. Definitely less crystal. I don't use crystal in my IPAs. if I do about a half pound. Also I'd suggest (next time) using a technique called hop bursting, requires more hops but allows for a softer bitterness and a lot more hop flavor by doing no hop additions early than 30...

    What are you drinking now?

Just finished the last of my SN Ruthless on to New Belgium Dig Pale Ale

    White Labs Yeast Question

Yes, and everyone vowed never to exchange beer with him. It was a day of realization. You never know what's in someone elses homebrew. Lol

How big of a boil kettle do I need?

Yeah my bad, 18g mash tun should be 10g batches. Edit: I'm dumb also my maths is wrong, I'm a complete idiot.

How big of a boil kettle do I need?

Grain volume + (water volume - 4% <for grain absorption>). Just measure the volume of 1lb of grain and 1g of water. Or look it up on the interwebs.

    Blow off is geyting clogged

Try taking it off and rinsing it out with hot water. Or by a giant tube to put on there lol. That is all I can suggest. If rinsing doesn't work, I guess just keep an eye on it, pull the tube off every now and again so it doesn't build up pressure and blow. Make sure there isn't any kinks in it...

How big of a boil kettle do I need?

15g batches is what it looks like judging by the mash tun size. I'd shoot for a 20g kettle. 10g batches shoot for 13-15. 5g shoot for 8-10.

    White Labs Yeast Question

Lolwat. I saw nothing wrong. Atleast nothing worse than the guy who accidentally got sperm in his beer.

My first shot at a recipe, thoughts?

I would say skip over the caramel and maybe add .5 carapils. That's just my opinion. Give the beer a little body. I don't use caramel in my IPAs anymore

    The Twelve Hopostles

That seems like a lot for 12 beers. I'm assuming that will mostly be for hops? I'm going to try and solo brew all 12 in a weekend soon also (i blame you). I'm going to make a giant 3 day party out of it.
