Help with foamy beer/beer line balancing

I'm having a hard time applying beer line calculators to balance my keg system and avoid foamy beers. Here is the info I think you would need to know in order to help me: Beer line 3/16 Length beer line 7 ft. (cannot be shortened) The line is cooled Temp of fridge 39(F) Beer line rises 20...

    grapefruit in beer

Looking to brew an IPA this week. Have no "C" hops. Have some Galina Hops and an ounce of Cluster Hops. I like a citrusy flavor. Can I throw some grapefruit in the primary and get a decent effect? If so, how many? Any ideas for a hop schedule with what I've got. I'm a novice so I...

    burnt brew

Thanks for the encouragement...what do you think about one of those little 4 oz bottles of fruit flavored flavoring..Maybe a raspberry or cherry oatmeal stout? Or, if it's gonna be burnt I'd probably just end up with a burnt fruit flavored stout. I'm not too hopefull it will turn out roasty...

    burnt brew

After about 20 successful brews (extract) I had a really rough brew day last Sunday. First, as I steeped a pound of oatmeal in my stout I left the bag to sit a few minutes. It stuck to the bottom of the pot and when I pulled on it, it tore emptying the oatmeal in the wort. Then about 1/2 way...

    Straining Hops, Hop Bags, etc

I use a strainer that you put over a frying pan to keep (bacon) from splattering. Sits right on top of a 5 gal bucket and works great.

    hop bag in primary

As an alternative in an IPA... What would be the result if I threw pellet hops in a hop bag into my primary? Could you just throw the hop bag from your boil into the primary and get a positive result.

    OG problem

I've been extract brewing for about 20 batches. When I apply my receipes to the following formula my origional gravities always end up much lower than my estimate. What can I do to raise my OG's? What am I doing wrong during the brewing that might cause my OG's to be so low. Should I boil...

    air in line

I thought so..however, when I was messing with the regulator, if I over carbed the beer..would co2 be coming out of solution and going up the beer line, thus the bubbles...should I bleed off the head space, let it sit, do it a couple times more to try to get back to 12 psi?

    air in line

I'm new to kegging..I've got 7 ft. of beer line. The fridge is about 35 degrees. I set my regulator at 12psi, hooked it to the gas inlet on my first corny and shook it for about 15 min. Let it sit in the fridge for about 4 days. Hooked up the beer line and was drawing a nice IPA with about 1...

    co2 tank

Obviously, it would be easier to carb my beer if I kept the CO2 tank outside the fridge (wouldn't have to open the fridge so much.) It's also obvious that you can have more beer in the fridge if you don't have the CO2 taking up space. However, does the CO2 last longer if kept inside? What are...

    force carb after 7 days

I've got a 3 tap system and currently have a nice oatmeal stout and an IPA running. I'm having friends over for the Super Bowl next Sunday. I brewed a Belgin Wit yesterday (Sat.) with the hope of racking it right to the keg after 7 days in the primary and force carbonating it next Sat. to...
