    Infusing a fruit

Definitely don't want to start out with rotten strawberries as I did. Throw them in ripe and frozen. I heard it helps even better if crushed or mashed too. Sorry you had to witness that OP. Online irrationality is a waste of time. I definitely want to apologize for my involvement. Not sure at...

    First taste -- cucumber wheat

You made this beer quick. Seems like almost two quick to be just under 3 weeks. Think I'll give it a try.

    Infusing a fruit

Um yeah this has gotten pretty stupid. Passive-aggression is strong with drathbone. Freezing doesn't sanitize fruit, I never said that it does. Gotta love skewing perception in order to get it to fit your argument. You wasted your breath man. You should probably move on and go back to helping...

    Keezer

I know the photos don't show great detail but the front without sanding or staining looks f-ing great already. I'm sure it'll look even better with the stain on it. I'm surprised that someone actually built a keezer BEFORE they started home brewing. Very impressive build!

    "A Case of Good Judgment"

That think looks like a can of brake fluid.

    Infusing a fruit

^ wow you managed to draw a ton of conclusions about my process from my 4 sentence reply to the OP. Probably unneeded for you to do that and slightly irrational to make those assumptions. Feel free to message if you'd like to know exactly how my process differs from yours. It would be cool if...

    Infusing a fruit

I have never heard of any circumstance where freezing the fruit has ever caused infection. There are hundreds of threads talking about freezing with no problem, so why take tippy toes around something that has caused no one any problems previously? Soaking the fruit in alcohol is exactly what...

    My cornhole itches

Wait... Did I just... YUP... I've sunk to an all new low. I clicked on a thread on HBT to read about a fella and is itchy butt.

    Lock for my fridges...

I think a trip to the Fridge-Boobie-Trap store is in order as well.

    Infusing a fruit

Chopping it into smaller pieces depends on what fruit you use. Most folks will chop them and throw them into a plastic bag. Or slightly mash them inside of the plastic sandwich bag, and freeze them solid - usually takes a few days. Thaw them very slightly so they can slide out of the bag in a...

    Fruit Beer Succulent Strawberry Blonde

Did you pee in it? No? It'll be fine. A few bottles may have less carbonation, happened to me, but I think i was just being overly critical and expecting the worse to happen.

    I miss the 80s!

Grew up in the 80s... probably my favorite decade. 2 years ago, costumes for Halloween:

Customer service isn't the problem, it's the customer

I thought this was gonna be a disaster thread like a certain thread from 2 months ago or so. Thanks for the lols.

    Deep Knee Bends

I've had days where I'm trying to swim through jello with thumbtacks in it. Edit: I get your metaphor 10 minutes after reading it hahaha

Need some help deciding when/how to add oak

How long was the oak in your beer?

    Scored a little Kegerator

This is a good quality score. Usually something that cheap would have no co2 with it, it'll have stickers all over it, and complete crud on the inside. I hope it works well as a plug and go.

help clear a hazy brew - multiple possible causes

+1^ on the gelatin, but I have never cold crashed. I recommend what Jon says as well. You may get great results. Tons of threads exist on how to use gelatin. Basically, heat two cups of water on the stove just below boiling, stir in gelatin until dissolved, cool down, place into secondary and...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Made this stuff six weeks ago and about 2 weeks ago this stuff has REALLY cleared up. I stick to beer mostly and that is usually pretty cloudy at this point but this apfelwein is really clear. It's cool to be able to see right through my carboy. The directions couldn't be any easier, but man...

    Reusing bottles

^^^ +1. I've forgotten to rinse plenty of bottles. A soak in Oxyclean for a few hours, a darn good rinse in plain water, and a soak in sanitizer of your choice works great. Hardly any scrubbing needed.

    Imperial Strawberry Blonde Ale

YES! But I made a mistake and thawed it, and allowed the strawberries to stay at room temperature for too long before I racked the beer on top. Slightly annoying off-strawberry-flavor for the time being, but letting the bottles sit a little longer will cure it. Next time I brew with fruit, I'm...
