    Cheapest Way To Make Cider

That's how I do it... My cider journey started with grapes. I planted some grapes here in Germany and 2 years later I had a lot of grapes. I smashed the grapes to make jelly. I left the smashed grapes in the big pot I used overnight because I couldn't find my strainer. Next morning the...

    Greenlee 1-1/4" Radio Punch

Yes, I did. I should've responded. I ended up just buying one new. Thanks.

    2.5 barrel brewery available soon

So it sounds like you are ordering blank cans and using the shrink sleeves on them? That's a great idea.

    Greenlee 1-1/4" Radio Punch

Anybody got a 1 1/4" Radio punch they're not using anymore and want to sell? Like a moron, I bought a 1 1/4" conduit which is obviously too big.

Official Denver CMC Group Buy #6

Any chance of the Belgian pale again? What about specialties like millet or other gluten free offerings? I'm thinking it would be fun to try out.

    Numbers of plants?

It depends on how much you use in each beer. I have one of each variety for mine, but they didn't produce all that much last year, due to first year. I think most people do one plant per variety unless growing to sell.

    High Altitude Hops

All those issues you listed will make it very difficult...Wind, high heat, cold, short growing season. I don't think the altitude would be as big of a problem as those issues. It would be great to test out though if you could minimize those issues and see how they do. You'll never know unless...

Quick and dirty Superbowl Smoker Temp Controller Help!

While it may be difficult to source parts for Sunday, an arduino with a thermocouple and relay to run a small fan would be fairly straightforward, although I don't know your experience with programming. I'm sure plenty of people here would help, although probably a better long term solution than...

    DIY lab-style vortex mixer?

Agreed on the orbital sander or the new "all in one" cutting/sanding tools with interchangeable heads. The latter might be the easiest to adapt to and create a vortex mixer head for. Such as...

Simultaneous Green Manure and Hop Growing

Do a search, I believe on google books. I found some papers talking about the ideal cover crops that can be tilled in at the beginning of the season as some of them are pretty winter hardy. If you can't find any, I'll see if I can find it when I get some time.

Denver CMC group grain buy #6

I'd be really interested in their malted millet, but I don't know if it would ever be available to us lowly homebrewers. I don't think we can buy through Great Western unless one of us is a business owner somewhat brewing related. It may be worth a shot though, or someone schmooze BrewHut for a...

Denver CMC group grain buy #6

Not to hijack in another direction, but you think brew hut would give us a slight bulk discount? The coupon is good, but it's only one bag at a time. It is a bummer that CMC had to raise prices. Hopefully it doesn't translate to other maltsters increasing too.

Denver CMC group grain buy #6

Do we want to delay this buy a couple months until everyone needs grain and we can hit 10k lbs...or is this even possible for us? Is the new CO 2row on the website? Can't check at the moment. What are the differences? Matt, how long until you think you'd need grain?

Denver CMC group grain buy #6

Not at all. That's why I threw it out there. I'd like to make it as easy on CMC as possible to keep prices down and keep them willing to deal with us.

Denver CMC group grain buy #6

For those in the springs: I'm not sure if I'll be buying any this round, but I work in Aurora and will pick it up from Dahoov's place and bring it down for anybody who would prefer that. Let me know. Erik Also, costco at this time has air lock storage containers for 26.99 which will hold...

Link to the spreadsheet? Did I miss it somewhere?

Denver CMC group grain buy # 5

Did they happen to mention whether the malted millet would be available in the future for group buys? I've got a friend with Celiac that would like a gluten free beer, but at $3/#, 50# by the bag minimum, it's a bit tough on the pocket book.
