I use the ac-5c-md with a spray ball on my 20 gallon fermenter and it cleans up well with enough force for me. I use a closed loop to recirculate on it while I'm getting things ready to brew. The ac-5c-md is also strong enough to forcefully whirlpool 20 gallons in my kettle.
Yes, three kegs just barely fit, and once the kegs are in, you get about 30lbs of ice in it. With kegs that are already cold (what kegs do you have that aren't already cold?) it remains cold for at least 6 hours. I haven't had an opportunity to test it beyond that. Usually when we break it...
I use a TE-5C-MD to run a CIP on my brewhemoth with 3/4" ID tubing. I can tell you that I wouldn't bother with the higher price of 1" tubing. I find that it has plenty of pressure and volume the way it is.
Just my 2 cents.
I disagree about the "wildly inefficient" comment.
Mine only added another couple dollars per month to our utility bill, and it sits outside.
I currently have 5 fridges/freezers in our house. 1 outside on the deck (covered), and 3 in the garage that isn't temp controlled. Our entire utility...
It's actually a ball valve i believe, but it does control flame size pretty well. I have one on each of my burners, and they're pretty easy to adjust to dial in my flame.
I was talking about a mount like this one from tesco pumps:
http://www.tescopumps.com/servlet/the-489/MAR-*MOTOR-MOUNTING-BRACKET/Detail
Is such a thing made for the AC series pumps? Yes, the mounting base certainly looks strong, but where it attaches to the pump doesn't provide much...
I have the stout assembly. It's just ok. for one, it's a small opening and easily clogs even with my 17 gpm pumps. And also, it uses a threaded connection that must be installed from the inside eliminating any way of removing it easily or using a CIP on it.
Walter, could this be done with the AC-5B-MD? I like the new mounting plates I've seen that go between the drive magnet and the motor on some 809's out there. With the AC5B the mount on the motor is a little flimsy, and I'm always worried that something's going to break on it.
I have some pub kegs (ball locks that had a Sanke D spear welded in the top) and I called up Dan from Sabco. Pub Kegs have an extra long spear and he sold me the entire assembly for $17.50 plus shipping. I think it was $63 for all three with shipping. That's for remanufactured, but they...
Yes, it will work, but the fridge and the fermentation bucket will be fighting eachother the whole time. If you're getting a temp controller to control the ferm wrap go ahead and get the two stage model and use one to control the fridge.
That's what I do, and then I actually have 5 feet of the...
if the fridge thermostat is being used to control the cold end while plugged in, you essentially still have a single stage controller. By giving it power all the time you have essentially skipped the temp controller.
Mine is the exact spec you list. 120 volt single phase, 1750 rpm, 1/3 hp, and 60 hz.
I run a 1.5 inch pulley on the motor shaft and a 9 incher on the grain mill. Works wonderfully. Starts up with grain in the hopper, and never seems to be burdened.
