Why don't you get a bulkhead antenna connector and put the antenna outside the box? I'm not sure what the netgear has for an antenna connector, but this is what I use: http://store.wisp-router.com/Ufl6-RPTNCFB-.4 The netgear may have rpsma instead of the RPTNC. If you take a picture or...

It does look very nice, but I find that tall narrow kettles like that take longer to boil and you can end up scorching the wart on the bottom before the rest boils. Just my own experience.

I bought solenoid valves from dudadiesel.com. Jut remember to mount them horizontal with the solenoid on top. Vertically mounted solenoids will leak a little. I'm considering switching to ball valves, but they are about 3-10 times as much depending on the brand, type, size, etc.

I assumed it was a standard Brutus type build. If it is bigger then great! One thing you might consider though (and this has come up with our brew club's 100 gal system) is that tall narrow vessels take longer to heat/boil than shorter wider ones. If I was going that big, I'd look for shorter...

You'd have to brew about 3 batches using keggles to get 1 bbl. A keg is actually 1/2 bbl.

12x12x6 BCS-460 Control panel is a tight fit

I have a program I set up on the laptop for the BCS, then use my BrewMate Android app to monitor and control the process. I have a wireless unit attached to the BCS that can operate as an AP or as a client bridge depending on where I am brewing. If I am at home, I link everything to my wireless...

Bsquared...there is an android app out for the bcs by the way. I like that you are using the bcs. It is so much easier than separate PID's and probably cheaper too!

I'm curious how you drain your pumps after brewing? I used to have mine set up like yours, but found that my pumps would retain liquid after brew days. Since I only get to brew once every couple of months, that could get pretty nasty. I ended up turning them so the intake was on the bottom and...

12x12x6 BCS-460 Control panel is a tight fit

Just curious on these...how hot can they actually get? Are they useful for HL as well? MY system is direct fire right now, but am looking to build a more mobile unit. Replacing 2 burners would be nice.

12x12x6 BCS-460 Control panel is a tight fit

For those looking for a cheap wireless bridge, I've got a bunch of Senao NL 2611 CB3 + Deluxes that I'll let go for $10 each + shipping. They are used, but still run like champs. The new firmware is supposed to handle WPA and I'll try to verify (previously they were WEP only). The boards are...

    android bcs app available

The app has been tested with the online demo unit, my own brew rig several times, and by three volunteers using it for different purposes.

I can see it if you are doing back to back batches and the pumps won't be idle, but I don't think most brew this way. I have a two pump system with solenoid valves to switch the direction of flow. I never have to change hoses either and use a BCS so I can control my valves, burners, and pumps...

    android bcs app available

I just published a new andoid app for controlling and monitoring the bcs-460. It is called BrewMate on the android market.

    BCS-460 Phone Apps Available

If anyone is using a BCS-460 and has been wanting an android app for it, there is one available now called BrewMate. There has been BrewBuddy for the I-phone for some time as well.

My new brew system, a brutus 10 with some nice modifications

Here is a simple BCS diagram. This is how my system is connected. The BCS replaces all your PIDs. In fact it acts like 6 PID's in one simple small device. You don't need switches unless you just want to add manual control, but that can be done through the web interface or even through a phone...

My new brew system, a brutus 10 with some nice modifications

Zeek, that is a good list, but for the total cost, you could have a bcs-460 and with a handful of ic relays for less than a buck each, you would have a fully process controlled system. Just curiosity why you went the harder route?

I think you'll be surprised at how much better beer you can brew when you have complete control over your process. The BCS will really take a lot of variability out of your brewing and will allow you to brew much more consistent batches. I went from a gravity set up like you describe to a BCS...

    New Brutus with mods

Just curious why you didn't go with a BCS-460 instead of all the manual switches and controllers? I find my processes can be much better controlled using the BCS and I can use my Android phone, net book, or laptop as the control panel. Don't get me wrong, I like your rig, but if it's better beer...

    New Brutus with mods

Foreman's sells brewing supplies too, and lots of other odds and ends. They haven't just been a "feed store" probably as long as Colleyville hasn't had any cows.
