    Help! Question about Extract

If you're going to Norther Brewer you could just get a 3.3 # jug of LME and add that to the can.

    Help! Question about Extract

3# is 3 pounds. You can use LME or DME, whichever you prefer. The conversion is 1 pound of DME for 1.25 pounds of LME. DME/LME are fermentable like dextrose but provide better flavor/body for your beer than dextrose.

    Help! Question about Extract

Use the can, add 3# light DME instead of Brew Enhancer, fill to 5.5 gallons (or 21 litres if using a Cooper fermentor) and you'll be good to go.

    Help! Question about Extract

You can use the Brew Enhancer but the Cooper kit I did came out better with DME. The Brew Enhancer is mostly corn sugar, the DME will give it more body and flavor.

Picnic tap issue, new to kegging

If it still leaks after tightening the cap, try this: - disconnect the hose - remove the thumb lever by pushing down and sliding it off - unscrew cap - take off rubber piece - make sure the plastic piece that runs through the spring and connects the thumb lever is all the way through the...

    BB kits vs AHS

AHS kits are fantastic. Plus their customer service is amazing. They are a little more expensive than NB but after ordering from both, I think their kits are better. The directions are easy to follow and included with the kit.

The myth of the <$50 corny keg

Beverage Factory has ball locks for $47.95 - I think they are right by Miramar. A 4 pack is $180. Also check keg connection - $7.95 shipping and pin locks & 'converted' ball locks for $39.

My wife made me a "brewing notebook" for Christmas. Nice leather cover, preformatted pages, etc.

    Coopers Beer kits?

When I brewed the English Bitter I used DME, which was recommended with the kit. I've heard of others using corn sugar but I haven't tried that myself.

    Coopers Beer kits?

My first kit was the Cooper's English Bitter. It was good, you just need to modify their directions. Leave it in primary for 4 weeks instead of the 7 days they suggest. After 4 weeks, bottle and condition for 4 weeks instead of the 10 days they suggest. It gets even better if you let them...

    Golden Anniversary Ale

Maida - sounds like a bar in Herkimer, I forget the name though. My room mate was from Rochester so we had plenty of Genny Light around. Never tried Golden Anny though.

    Coopers Stout mix

It'll increase your abv but may change the taste. Better off using more DME if you want to increase abv - or just leave it as is.

    Coopers Stout mix

You should be fine with one pack of yeast and no need to secondary. Just keep it in primary for 4 weeks.

    anyone had AHS Bavarian Hefewiezen?

This is the second time I've seen Forrest offer to hook someone up on HBT - and the main reason I started ordering from AHS. That is quality customer service. I just brewed the double chocolate stout and it is amazing!
