    Cider apple trees

How have you delt with the deer and elk? I would have had apples ready to press by now had it not been for those annoying friends. The elk go through just about anything to get to the apple trees.... almost like growing crack to them. I'm still trying though and changing up how I protect the...

Show me your taps! (through a wall)

I have space in our utility room for a refrigerator and I was thinking of running lines from the fridge through an adjacent wall. I'm pretty lazy so I figured this would be fairly easy to accomplish.....drill a few holes in the fridge and the drywall, install taps on the wall, place a table...

    RIP my Keezer friend

It probably shortens the life. However, my freezer has been working fine for 8 years (up until now). It has 1/4 in. painted mdf board glued to 3 sides of it. You can still feel the heat radiating from the sides when it's running. The reasoning for the cladding is that the freezer lived in...

    RIP my Keezer friend

I actually did some troubleshooting already. I plugged the freezer directly into the wall and bypassed the controller. It still runs incessantly and the temp stalls out at 50. However, when the freezer is running, there is one small area on the inside that feels ice cold. The rest of the walls...

    RIP my Keezer friend

I haven't been on hbt in quite a while. However, my first Keezer build was inspired by this forum. The information I was able to gather from other members here was inspirational and highly informative. Unfortunately, my Keezer is beginning to die. The freezer is no longer able to hold a...

    Wedding Beers...Please critique

Hey Mexican, how did the wedding go? Most importantly, how did the beers go over as favors?

So I need to give an update for those contemplating a similar scenario. I decided to throw all 4 kegs in an ice bucket. The lines were connected through a cooler with picnic taps connected to the front to keep the lines cool. The cooler was filled with ice and each tap had a few extra feet...

    What are you drinking now?

Belgium strong ale that I brewed a year ago....not my best creation since it didn't come out right, but makes me happy on a Friday after a long week managing data analysis (good times!).

    Wedding Beers...Please critique

Dude that's a great traveling setup! I'm not quite there but I can dream. Hopefully you never accidently bring it to the curb on trash day. I put some thought into it however so I'm just going to chill out the kegs in some buckets with ice, but have a cooler with ice also to keep the...

Here's the recipe for the IPA. Even people that don't like hoppy beers really enjoy this one. This is probably one of the best beers I've brewed in my short homebrew career. BeerSmith Recipe Printout - http://www.beersmith.com Recipe: Colorado Glacier Ale Brewer: Dan Asst Brewer...

    Wedding Beers...Please critique

Great suggestions here so far. I could always do 5 kegs and add a blond. The IPA is highly drinkable with the recipe I have. Even non-hopheads really enjoy it. The porter may be a tough sell. If I have too much...well I'll just have some left over ready to go after the wedding. I'm still...

    Wedding Beers...Please critique

So I'm getting married in June which leaves about 3 months to go :rockin: My future wife and I decided to serve some home-brew which should make quite the impression, and ensure everybody is having a good time. The venue will not allow outside beer due to liscencing. However, the day before...

Denver Beer CO, anybody been there yet?

Hey, I was driving down Santa Fe about a week ago and SWMBO pointed out some brewery she saw....must have been Renegade. I think I'll need to break out the bicycle and make an afternoon crawl at some point. Thanks for the heads up!

    Keezer Help/Suggestions - 8.8 Kenmore

Cost, lol...not sure. Without any kegging equipment I would say <$300 including the used freezer. Not too bad. Bought the 4 keg kit from Midwest, and the Perlicks from Amazon (cheaper) For the MDF, I just cut to size and laid it on with the liquid nails with weights on top. I flipped the...

    Show us your Kegerator

Oh, and thanks to everybody on this forum for helping with ideas! There are some awesome keezers out there that helped with the creative process and basic requirements to get this together.

    Show us your Kegerator

The chalkboard was a $10 framed photo of prairie dogs from Goodwill. I painted the frame black and used chalkboard paint on the glass. The mat is just rubber cabinet liner that can be purchased from Target. It comes in rolls in several colors, and can be cut to size. Cheers! :mug:

    Keezer Help/Suggestions - 8.8 Kenmore

So I went with the paneling and have had no issues. Just liquid nailed some 1/8 MDF directly to the freezer and painted it black. Turned out great! When the freezer kicks on it seems to have no issues radiating the heat. Here are some Hi-Res photos...
