    Homebrew on the WEB 2012

I agree with this also, rank the beers by score, if there is a tie, then do the mini bos, but only in the case two or more beers end up with the SAME score.

    Homebrew on the WEB 2012

Nothing you can do. From my understanding with this competition they took all beers with a score of 38 or better to a mini bos round. Then the judges pick their favorite of the group and 1,2,3 regardless of score. We figured this out when my melomel scored a 42.5, my buddies a 41 and another 40...

If you still haven't gotten anything I would get a hold of Jay Green, he is very helpful and ran that competition.

Secondary Regulator Bank- Question on gas input positioning

With my secondary regulators there is input on either side with gas out on the bottom. Just take out the end cap on the side you don't want it on and swap it with the input, worked for me.

    SCABS homebrew comp Michigan

I entered 3 beers, just got my score sheets emailed to me, my Imperial Black IPA took 1st in specialty beers, they didn't like my Kolsch, and my belgian mistake (f'd a beer up with over sparge, did a longer boil and different hops, tastes good though) did ok.

World Expo of beer Frankenmuth MI

each judge scored it a 42, one BJCP recognized judge Mike Mullins. They liked it a lot and noted no flaws and only stated maybe more body and sweetness but it is a fine beer now. however it was a "black IPA" so it was in specialty category 23, and I just noticed that the box was checked that the...

He's in my brew club, an amazing homebrewer, his beer's are perfect. I got 2 honorable mentions, out of 900+ entries I'm Happy, my imperial IPA scored a 42 with honorable mention, 39 on czech pilsner with HM, some high scores out there.

Hops - still good or toss

they should be fine, I've used hops that were 2 years old in the freezer, most likely lost some alpha acids, but they still worked.

Quick question on prepping fresh peaches for beer

I rinsed the peaches really well, sanitized my cutting board and knife, cut them up into tiny pieces, put them in freezer bags, along with all the skin and pits and froze them. Took some potassium sorbate and potassium metabisulfite to stop any extra fermentation, added that and the peaches to...

Quick question on prepping fresh peaches for beer

I've never had it, the only Lindemans that comes to mind is Framboise, so if the peach is anything like that I would have to say no, the peach is definitely there, but it is not over powering and is a right balance of peach and beer. Also not a lambic, used wyeast belgian wit yeast.

Quick question on prepping fresh peaches for beer

Hey I've been an avid reader, but have yet to post something informative. I made a peach wit this summer, took about 8 lbs of fresh peaches, kept the pits, when they were very ripe just cut them small enough to fit into the carboy, bagged them up and froze them. Delicious peach flavor, made a 5...
